im from Jersey and going to be in Arizona in March. Ive rented a motorcycle(Honda Gullwing... i know) couldnt get my bike out there and there was no place that rents Victorys. Im going to be riding from Phoenix to Tucson and have the bike for 2 1/2 days. im going to ride the Catalina Hwy to the top of Mt Lemmon weather permiting, just wondering if any one out there is a local and has any suggestions for an epic ride. definetly would be better on my V92

I can not offer you much on the ride BUT... Be careful on the Goldwing, they are some serious nice and comfy rides!!!!

You will be wanting to trade in that V92 for a Visioncheers

The Vision IMO is the only bike that will come close to the comfort of the Goldwing!!!!!

You will have a balst!!!!

Arizona rides

Don't know if you will be spending all your time around Tucson as I am not real familiar with southern AZ rides, but the ride up Mt. Lemon is awesome. Just make sure temp's are well above freezing up top as I saw a post by a Vision rider that lost it on black ice. If you are staying in Tucson, might want to check out Kitt Peak if you are interested in astronomy. They have the largest telescope facility in the country.
Another nice ride would be to take the back roads from Tucson up to Superior, then up to Globe. If you have time, ride an hour north of Globe to Salt River Canyon, it is awesome!
If you spend a day around Phoenix, another good ride is from Scottsdale to Payson, then over to Camp Verde & back to Phoenix via I-17.
Either way, I am sure you will enjoy the Grand Canyon state. I am looking forward to some warmer weather & March is usually in the 80's in the desert.....hard to beat!
Good luck & stay safe!

Arizona Victory has dealerships in Tuscon and Phoenix. I rented a Vision in Tuscon at Az. victory a couple of years ago. I'm sure you could get one in Phoenix if you wanted check out the website and maybe you can still get a Vic. have fun while your out there. We rode southeast out of Tuscon to the New Mexico border then north through Gila then Apache National forest. a really nice ride through the mountains. Really beat the heat in late june. Anyway have fun try to rent a Victory at Az. Victory. Mike

Sorry but AZ Victory does not rent bikes. I tried to rent an XC before I bought one from them but as far as I know, nobody in AZ rents Vics. They are a fantastic dealership however & are moving into much nicer facility here in Phoenix.

howdy

a nice roll north of tucson is tuson-globe-superior-winkleman-tucson..there is only one road to take so you cannot miss it on the maps...about 220m....one south is tucson-patagonia-sonoita..-bisbee/benson-tucson....mt lemmon was under chains monday...too cold for me till mid april...and then there is the ice...from tucson...north side, it is an hour roll in traffic to the catalins hwy...then 25 miles up....a lot of trouble for me and so i mostly do the globe circuit...another top of the line roll takes to globe leg further north past lake rosevelt...then the beeline south back to phoenix. or further north to payson then right to sho low and back thru the salt river canyon...i like sho low...but it is likely still chilly..and if you are in show low...you can take the 260 thru the reservation to the eagar-apline areas.and back down to safford...couple hundered there but the leg from alpins to safford (parts of it) are pretty much twipsites-dragon slayer stuff...and trees trees trees....all in all...several days of 200m rolls....and all of what i said are 2 lanes and purty....for me n march...underamor and i would bring some leather.cause i git cold under 65....(ha)

and yes, i am getting ready to get her rolling my self.

be careful going up/down the lemon. Lots of bicyclists, and idiots wanting to pull out right in front of you. Also, around this time of year there is still sand on the road from the snow. I usually dont go up there until at least May. There are lots of nice rides to Toombstone/Bisbee.
