2011 XR:
I just assembled my new fuel filter, but I know I did not get the filter line connected totally on, on both ends. Someone on here had the same issue and used heat shrink to complete the connection. I am wondering: do I need to go back and heat shrink also, or do I just need to have a professional assemble a new fuel filter, or just leave it alone? The bike fires up and does well. I would really appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

Well, hopefully I have better luck.
I just bought a filter kit couple weeks ago.

I don't know if heat shrink can hold up to fuel exposure.

I wonder if putting some lubricant on the male insert and heating the female tubing would make this process easier? I would imagine that a little bit of motor oil as the lubricant would not hurt anything. It would dissolve in the fuel and not hurt the engine.
