I want to add an Aux Battery terminal somewhere near the seat to use for connecting rider and passenger heated gear. I don't want to have to disassemble much of the bike to do it. Does anyone know of an easy way to route the wiring so it's out of the way and does not intefere with any routine maintenance procedures?
If you have done this, What product did you buy for the accessory terminal. I am also thinking of mounting the heating controllers on the bike. Any thoughts.

I pull the center pannel in front of seat and pull out my vest cord. It does not pinch or scratch any thing.

I ran a power wire from under the dash to the righ hand saddle bag. That pocket thats there. I fold up my passanger vest cord in that pocket. When needed open bag pull cord out and she plugs in. No pinching of wires any place.
Fast to fo and fast to hook up.

Well a couple ideas but could use a bit of info what you got on the bike.
If no heated seat I think you will find a 2pin connector Blk / Blu-Pink which is the wiring for the heated seat option. I am unsure if it is already run or not.
If no connector, look for blu/pink wire heading to the trunk. that is your accesory for the trun which is a 20amp. Keep in mind that is fused to the windshield.
Both of these are switched so ignition off will secure power to any gear left plugged in.

Im guessing two jackets, I know my jacket is 6amp max draw. I like Johnny's stash points for the cables, if your going to run wiring I would make a fused harness running post solenoid and heat shrink then just zip tie in with current harness front and back.

Just some thoughts, if you have not downloaded the 09 service manual, go to tech section and search BBob and service manual. He has it up for download and you can go from there.

Thanks, I do have heated seats, so I will look for the for blu/pink wire heading to the trunk. I usually hook up heated vest and gloves. I believe max draw is less than 7.5 amps. Both my gerbing wiring harness have fuseble link holders and an assortment of fuses depending on what you are heating. Looks to me to be the easiest hookup.

Also, The first thing I did when joining this forum was to download the service books. They had an 08 and a 10, but no 09, so I downloaded both. The 08 is probably what I should use.

Thanks

Did you find a spare power wire under the dash, or did you run a new one up from the battery?

Thanks

I also use gerbing heated gear. I simply ran the pigtail that came with the gear and it comes up alongside the left hand cubby where my i phone is hooked up. I only have a heated jacket though. With heated grips and seat no need for anything else. I ride year round as long as there is no snow.

I ran a power wire off battery. Gerbing has a plug that will go into the tender plug. Under dash look for light gray two pin connectors you can use them but might need to change the fuse out.

Thanks Everyone for the help!
Good luck and let us know what you came up with maybe with pics. There seems to be alot of new older Visions coming in here now so might be a good mod to repost even as we talk about year round riding on the Vision. Im running the jacket only but have been thinking about getting the gloves lately just for the fact of the backs of my hands are getting older I think.. lol...
