Hey all! Greetings from the great white north!
Taking a vacation to San Diego April 9-15. Wondering what is the best dealer to visit and maybe rent a bike for a day? I ride 2011 XC. Also, can I hook up with a group ride on Sunday or weekday? Or, suggestions for a nice day tour ride myself. Never been out west so i'm looking forward to the holiday. Going with family so limited time but clearance to play a bit!

Thanks all!

Hi, I live in San Diego and I'm a new owner of a 2011 XC. Let me check with a friend at work today, he has rented bikes locally and I'll get his input. San Diego east county has hundreds of miles of great riding routes. I would suggest riding the back country up to a old gold mining community of Julian and drop on down into the desert. The desert this time of is outstanding. Julian is about 50mi from center of San Diego and the desert is another 20 miles. If you ride on a Sat or Sun, you will see lots of other bikes out on the same roads. If you see a white and silver XC, that will be me. I think I'm the only out there with one presently. This weekend has slight chances of rain, the weekdays next week should be nice, and not sure about the following weekend.

Feel free to email me at [email protected] for any other info about the San Diego area. I will post back later today with rental info.
