Good Afternoon Everyone,

I'm looking at picking up a new or used Victory Vision Tour or the XCT next year. Not trying to start a war, however which one would you recommend and why? Its primary use would be touring with some city rides but 85% open roads. I haven't been on a bike in about 10 yrs but do plan on going thru a course or two before I hit the road (No Pun Intended)LOL.

Also looking for the best all round retailer in the area from Mckinney to Arlington?

Any help in the area would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Mike

You'll have to ride them both to make a decision.

There's Strokers in Dallas.
Freedom Powersports in McKinney, Hurst, and Weatherford.
I think there's a dealer in Denton, also.

I love the ride of my XC... I haven't rode a Vision but have heard great things. I liked the bag size and selection of afternarket goods for the XC vs Vision.

So ICEBOX, now that you have owned both the CC (T ?) and the Vision can you give my your review/op?

I know I have to make the final decision and that will be done with a few more rides on both good and bad days. However, I'm just looking for some of the hidden things that you don't notice during the test rides like, the radio sucks and need to be up graded or the front fender had to be replace three times in 2 years from stress cracking, etc etc, just some things that, that are not the end world but nice to know before you buy.

BTW, Hope you enjoying the new CC and the weather is getting ready to break for some nice riding temps.

Thanks

Good choice, that's where I bought my 14 Xc was from Allan. All three of the sales guys in there are cool people. Welcome to the Vic forum.

Hi Mike Welcome! I have owned a 2012 XCT and a 2009 Vision can not say anything bad about either bike. I do like the electric windshield on the Vision a lot better than the XCT windshield. In fact I disliked the OEM XCT shield so much I removed it and installed a 14 inch. CC shield. There is a gape all the way across the bottom of the shield of the XCT and I found it allowed very small stones and bug pieces fly throw gape and into my face. That is just my like dislike. I rode for a long time with OEM shield. Both bikes will give you a lot of useful service. cheers

Vision....

Visions do handle good. Road one years ago. Currently have a 2011 Cross Roads. I do read that people who own the Vision do love them. Myself I am not that big of guy 5'7". They were selling that Vision 8 Ball, cool bike, and some of the other ones do look great. The Vision 8 Ball was a little lighter and had a lower seat, those are some of the reasons I really liked it. Now my Cross Roads, no I do not have Victory Windshield on it, I have an aftermarket MRA shield on it. The saddle bags are very large inside and they are great, really like them. Do like the fact that the CrossRoads is quite abit lighter. Also both bikes do handle very good. The Vision does offer great wind protection, not the greatest on on the CrossRoads. One other cool thing about the Vision is the rubber pads they come with so if the bike is dropped in a parking lot it does not get hurt, the Cross bikes you ought to get the bag and engine guards, they will save you money on repairs if it falls over. So it's a coin toss, buy one of each. Better yet rent one one weekend and then go back and rent the other model a week later then decide. Then let us know what one decide to go with.wac

Freedom Powersports in McKinney is the place to go. I will not let anyone else touch my bike. They are honest and will work with you on what you want/need to get done to your bike. This is just my opinion. I suggest you go visit both places, talk to sales, parts, service departments and see which one you like best. Ask if their mechanics have been to the approved VIC schools and all of that stuff.

My vote goes to Freedom PowerSports Hurst. I purchased from them at their former location from the former GM but I get my maintenance done at the new location and Matt and Pat are top notch in my opinion. thumb up

Go to the closets dealer to you get a best deal quote. Then go to Strokers. I purchased my CCT from another dealer and when I talked with the guys at Strokers I found I could have saved 1500 dollars.

Well it looks like I will be going with a (New to Me) 2013 Black XCT (Fastest Color u know LOL) tri-ovals (and I think a stage-1 kit/flash). However, I'm not sure on the stage 1 stuff. Whats the best way to know/find out, is there any tell tail signs?
I think I got a OK deal at 16K plus TT&L. not great but ok. I ran the T-CLOCS checklist and it all checked out. So as with any used vehicle, I'm hoping for the best and a lot of care free miles.

Is there a PDF file of the service manual on line somewhere or a copy i can get someplace?

Anyway, I wanted to thank all for your help and comments..

Mike

PS. I will pick it up next Friday or Sat weather permitting..
