I just finished installing lower fork boots and am wanting to black out the upper forks. The catch is I have a windshield so I can't just do a cover or sleeve. Tried painting but that is too difficult to do in place and will get all scratched up if done off the bike and then installed. Anyone have any thoughts?

Check out some of the videos on YouTube. Overspray is easily removed.
That's what I tried. I tried it with forks installed. It's really difficult to be able to get a smooth coat on because of limited access to the back of the fork between the triple tree.

Also, the upside to easy overspray removal is the downside to applying it over something really smooth like the polished fork. I sneezed in the other room and the plasti-dip started to peel off the fork. :(

Another option might be Flextape trimmed to fit with an exacto knife or scalpel.
I looked at that at the local Target today. It's actually pretty thick. But you got me looking in the right direction. I was able to get some 3" black vinyl tape for same day delivery from Amazon. The vinyl tape is only 6 mils. I plan on posting pictures once its done.

Here's how the vinyl tape turned out. It is basically the same material as a car wrap, just in tape size. I like the look of it. The windshield mounts are plasti-dipped. I'm putting pictures in the Vegas section of the forum if you want to see what the bike looks overall.
