I've always liked HD and Victory bikes, heck many other brands too!

But while I really liked the Victorys, here in Canada, the MSRP on all brands of motorcycles is way higher then what you guys stateside see. So, if you're looking at a new Cross Country and a new Street Glide, the Victory wasn't much cheaper, maybe a couple thousand.

BTW, I'm not at all implying that the Vics aren't as good as Harleys and should be priced lower because of it, what I'm saying is that Harley is in the position to price their bikes pretty damn high because of their popularity and cache(even though everybody on the block has one). *Victory doesn't have a herd mentality, owners that see the brand almost as a religion or something.

Even though I believe that the Victory is probably a better bike over all, I've always felt that since they don't have this cache, "heritage/history", marketing, and other BS, etc... to go along with the brand, there should have been a bigger spread in prices between similar bikes in each camp.

Here's where the price advantage kicks in for us in Atlantic Canada, just wait until August and see the prices drop! We just had a bikers weekend last week here in our town and Victory had a booth set up there and man, they had slashed the prices of all the remaining 2012-2013 bikes.

A brand new 2013 Cross Country in red was reduced by about $4000! And a brand new 2013 Cross Country Tour in blue was knocked down appx. $3000.

So, with that kind of deal, you get your 2013 Cross Country for probably $6000 less then a 2013 HD Street Glide, especially after the taxes are factored in. Now that difference in price is hard to turn down. Man, that's a lot of money.

I've never seen a Harley sit for any amount of time on the showroom floor here at our local dealer, they always sell, there's no price slashing going on here and they always sell. HD just has life too easy, the bikes seem to sell themselves and nobody seems to mind paying the asking price.

Too bad I'm too poor right now to pull the trigger on anything(must.....resist...):D, even a great deal like that. Dang!

Oh well, at least now I know for sure that the Vics are a hell of a deal, just don't be in a hurry to buy one and you'll do alright.

Man, I can't say for the cross bikes but my Judge is 13,999USD and 15200CAD...that's 1201 bucks difference man. Do yourself a favor, if that bugs you, never ever look at the price of a car in Canada vs that same model in the US. I was the exact opposite of you. I was rather impressed at how little difference there was...

especially considering the average wage for a technician in the US Navy is $49,000 and the average in the Canadian navy is $70,000. (I'm a tech in the navy that's why i chose that).

Yeah, the judge is a pretty cool bike.

My main point wasn't the difference between the MSRP between Canada and the US but the amount that leftover Victory bikes are discounted. I mean, a $6000+ difference between a 2013 CC and a 2013 HD Street Glide.

I wouldn't want to buy a new Victory and then two months later the same model drops by $4000, it's definately worth waiting until the time is right.

Well yes timing is everything. I'm sure if you bought a 2013 the week before the 14's were announced you'd be pretty pissed the week after the 14s came out and saw that price drop...I personally waited until February to buy my bike...there is a winter bike expo here in NS. So dealers havent been selling much for a couple months now...expo pricing plus my military discount...Even the americans would be jealous about what I actually paid for the Judge. Not complaining at all. My wife is actually a really good "bad cop" to my good cop. Got us a sweet deal on our car just by acting like she hated it. Huge act. But when we saw the MSRP, then got the deal slid across the table...she couldnt even say anything other then SOLD.

When the new model year comes out is definitely the time to pick up a new old stock Vic. Got mine for 25% off msrp about this time last year and could have done better if I would have drove a few states over

HD charges you for the name, a 60s suspension and brakes and 80s gm computers and a lotta headaches, victory charges you for modern components and engineering. im a all the new toys person so i chose victory

Would prefer to buy a 14, does Polaris have other seasonal discounts? I have never bought one at but been told best time to deal is bike show season here in Canada typically jan-feb. issue would be the necessity of manufacturer rebates. Tough to beat these prices, can get a black xc for 17600 all in. XCT's not quite as good, 22100 all in.

I noticed that too. Was a bit hesitant to drop the hammer because every month there was a new deal or better deal.

Where are u in NS?
