Well, I've decided I am going to take off and sell my XR Fairing Kit. Since I'll have the bucket open to disconnect the wires for the handlebar switches, I am considering swapping out my HID kist for one of the LED lights. Any thoughts about if the LED lights are worth it? I do backroads (think deer) in the mornings sometimes and I would like to know if they put out about the same or less than HID or stock. Any observations are appreciated.

Also, I see several LED lights on eBay and Amazon for about $80 (or less) so those would likely be the ones I'd purchase. I cannot justify the $300 for the Vic part .

Thank you for the video. It reminded me to find a 6000K light as the 6500K has the yellow tint.

I have the Victory Led light and it lights up reflective surfaces like nothing else. Street signs, license plates, but especially animal eyes (at great distances) However, it does NOT flood the forward area with light like a dedicated set of driving lights.
I would buy the light a hundred times over, but don't expect it to perform like the sun.

Just my two cents.

I've noticed with my Victory Beacon LED that the deer have a slight blueish tint to them. This gives them just enough contrast to the road to stand out and catch my eye better. Doobliss is 100% spot on about the way it lights up anything that is reflective.

I know you do not want to spend the money for the Victory light (made by JW Speaker) however this is one of those things in life that you get what you pay for.

Watch this video and watch the other videos they made. You will learn a lot of things to help you not only save your money but make the right choice for you.

No, 6000 is yellower than 6500 the higher the number the more on the blue side it will get. The lower the number the more yellow-orange it gets. The Blue light given off by many LED lights is harder on the eyes for long rides and is now being warred against for use for LED street lighting because of the damage it can cause after long exposure to it. Most cities including the one I live in are now going down to 4100K for LED lighting.

That said, I just might stay with my HID light. It is an annoyance for me when the bulb has to "warm up" but it is VERY bright. I had to adjust the headlight down as I did not want to blind drivers heading my direction. It just might be better for me to part with the fairing and do a couple other things I've been thinking about. Thank you, all, for your input.
