I'm planning on changing the fork fluid and rebuilding my forks soon. I was looking over on Victoryparts.net for the items I'll need.

2204214, Kit-Seals, Bushings, $52.20/leg, $104.40

7556548, Spring Guide-Lower, $3.89/leg, $7.78

7556549, Spring Guide-Upper, $3.60/leg, $7.20

I'll be at 60K miles soon and the fork oil hasn't been changed since 15K miles. I figure while the fork legs are off I may as well change the common wear items. Does this look like all the normal wear parts to you who have done this job?

Have you looked into Witchdoctors for those parts?

I'd check Race Tech also. See if they know what the fork is and if they do they should have parts.
Vic doesn't make their forks, They are purchased to Vic's spec from an OEM based on one of the OEM's series of forks.

The parts you buy from Vic will also be re branded parts from that OEM.
If you get them from Racetech they will come in the OEM's package, same part.
Racetech is a distributor for most foreign forks here in the US and there markup isn't as high as say HD's is on HD fork parts. (showa) You maybe able to save some money that way.

I would imagine that Traxion might also be a distributor for foreign fork parts also. Might check there as well.
You might have to take a few measurements or send a couple of pictures to ID it. But it might be much cheaper.

I would not do the bushings unless they are actually causing a problem.
Yeah was about to say same thing, bushings will be ok, and aftermarket seals a hell of a lot cheaper too, I used the All Balls ones.
Full Synthetic fork oil after using normal to flush them

BREAKING NEWS......I'm picking up a pair of rare CHROME forks for my XR. Local indie Vic shop got them with a buyout of a dealer. Getting them for a fraction of list. Photos to follow when I get them later today. I can't think of any Cross bike with an 18" front wheel that had chrome forks, can you?

I'll guess if you mike the used parts and compared to the new ones you'll find very little wear. Keep in mind polaris came up with these low mileage numbers so dealers could make money off us

I have, they were higher priced than victoryparts.net

Racetech only lists Gunner, V92C and Vegas on their website. I'll call their main Corona, CA number (951-279-6655) when they open for business. I can't imagine them not having the seals available. I agree on all the comments above. Polaris doesn't 'make' this type of part, they only spec out from a list of industry standard items. Just like brakes, calipers, bearings etc.

If you get someone who isn't of any help on their sales line call back and select tech help through the menu and then Louie. He is very knowledgeable and experienced as is the other fellow who often picks up his line.
He can also do sales or could, I am guessing that one of them will be able to figure out what you have.

I'd like to know who made the fork myself as down the road that will be important to me finding wear parts when my turn comes.

I did call Race Tech and spoke with Lou. He didn't know anything about the Victory Cross bike forks and wasn't at all interested in finding out. I suggested it should be a somewhat 'standard' item so he asked me what the fork diameter is. I didn't have it off the top of my head and will measure them with calipers. I'll call back on Monday and since I'll have the fork tube size, perhaps I'll be able to get a RaceTech part number. I'll report back.

Maybe take a couple of pictures and see if he has an Email you can send it to.
and.... offer to send him a link to one of Witchdoctors video's so he can get a look at the internals.

Maybe he will bite then. I've met him, and he is sharp. Lots of experience but obviously not with Victory. I've bought cartridge emulator and assorted wear parts for a couple of HD's and a couple of sidecar rigs from him and he has been spot on. Proper spring/emulator/forks setup on a sidecar bike is usually problematic but they ended up fine with a little tweaking. They rework dozens of forks in house a week there, so if it goes on a motorcycle they have probably seen it and should be able to recognize it.

I had an opportunity to score these virginal chrome forks at a very reasonable price. I know of no Cross bike that had chrome forks, so they must have been chromed for a custom bike. I bought them from a local indie Vic tuner who got them with a big parts buyout from a closed dealer. After installing them, I stood back and what I saw was worth every dollar.

@Chattanooga Mark ..Thanks for this thread, I know my time is coming for the "minutia" work that has to be done to keep an old MC in top condition... fork seals\oil, steering head and wheel bearings.... I'm not looking forward to doing it but I know these have to be done.
@RICZ those new legs are a real compliment to your XR thumb up

I'm thinking now you have to chrome the upper and lower triple tree. Yea, that's the ticket. The chromed forks do look wonderful. Congratulations to you on your shiney find.
