Not sure if I should be overly concerned, but the hose shown in the pic is (I think) the crankcase breather hose. Pic might not show, but the end is showing some cracks. Wondering if it's anything I should rush into the shop over?

I would just order a new one. If it leaked at all I would clean and tape it until the new one arrived.

Agree on Ordering another one .. Just keep an eye on it until the new one arrives ..

They didn't exactly run that in the best place with all the heat it gets in that spot.

That's not a factory hose. Did you do it or did it come that way.
Factory hose is one pease and does not come that close to cylinder

Well, it was there when I picked up the bike, brand new, from the dealer in July 2013.

Looking at the service manual, it sure looks like the position they expect it to be in.

Of course, I *DID* opt for the reverse gear to be installed at the dealer. Wonder if they had to make a cut to fit it in. I have a question in to them about the same issue.

Yup - they cut and spliced it! I put the reverse kit in mine this Christmas - re-routing the original plastic hose was a friggin bear! I ended up using a heat gun to make the plastic mallable then re-routed it to it's new home! Everything is quite tight down there now - but it all does fit!
