While driving to Prescott AZ last weekend I determined that the stock windshield was not adequate for longer trips. I picked up one of these shields today.

This weekend I am riding to Big Bear, CA. I will let you all know the results and also post some pictures of the windshield on the bike.

If anyone else has experience with this new shield please feel free to post up your review.

The Victory flip is a good improvement over the stock blade shield, but that's not saying much.

At speeds up to about 65 mph, the buffeting is fairly well controlled for the driver, but the passenger will still feel it. I think this is caused by the steep angle of the flip shield. It sits much more upright than the stock one. This causes more of a vortex behind the shield which allows air to "push" in from behind and the sides to fill the void. The more speed increases, the more you will feel this wind pressure from behind.
The passenger feels air pushing from the sides as the edge of the vortex is right behind the driver.

As I said, the flip is adequate for regular highway speeds, but not quite right for the 75 - 80 cruising speed I usually travel at.

I installed the Flip and had to trade up to the full size. The Flip created a vision problem for me when transitioning from looking over to looking through the shield. It was if I was taking glasses on and off. Don't know if I got a bad one or not. The full size is fantastic!!!

Hey Troll, Maybe I ended up with the flip windshield that you tried out. The one I bought had definitely been installed before.

Anyway, I installed the shield last night and just could not wait to take it on a ride. So here is my 2 cents on the flip shield. It is a definite improvement over the stock shield. The first thing that I noticed is that I could hear the trunk speakers. As stated by rocketo at 70 + you begin to feel the air but for me it was nothing close to the normal noise at those speeds. I took the bike out of town to see if there was any issues with seeing the road or oncoming headlights and I was never bothered by either. My Fiance was on the back and she said that she can actually hear the stereo now and that she feels less buffeting.

Not having a full shield to compare to, I would have to take your word on it. But I will say that I like this one so far.

Took the bike out for another spin on Wednesday. This time was out on the interstate and I have to say that I am very happy with the performance of the flip windshield. Again you do get some wind noise once you get above 70mph but I can hear the stereo much better and I still do not get anywhere near the buffeting that I am used to.

I have the flip windshield and like it over the stock windshield but as one said it's not much of an improvement. If I go over 65 the bobble head starts and at 80 where I like to cruise, it's bothersome. I'm 6'2" and look over the flip windshield. MY GF complains about buffeting at almost any speed. Never heard one complaint form her on my 06 Kingpin. The Cee Dragon is in shipping and scheduled for delivery Thursday (9/29/11). I'll let you know how the Cee Dragon compares. I also read on another thread of a Cee Silencer windshield. He had pictures and it looked good.

Which Flip?

You may want to get clarifications from posters as to WHICH flip they installed. Since the one you pointed out (Klockwerks) has only been on the market for about a month and a half, most of the people providing feedback on here are providing feedback on the NESS Flip that was the ONLY flip option previously available. The Ness does help over stock but as others have stated, not by a great deal more.

However, the Klockwerks Flip is formed differently and therefore has different characteristics from the Ness version. To my knowledge, only about a handful of forum posters have actually tired this newer Klockwerks version and I am one of them. For more details on these run a search on here and other forums for the Klockwerks flip (Victory contracted with Klockwerks to use it as the OEM Victory Flip). I ordered and recieved the Victory OEM and it was/is the Klockwerks product.

ndabunka, thanks for the info. I did not know there are two flip windshields now. I bought mine in May right after getting the bike so it must be a Ness flip. Does anyone know how they compare?
