Cross Roads Tachometer...finally!

I finally got a round tuit and loaded my pics into my 'puter. Now I can show you what the analog tach looks like on a Cross Roads. Looks like it should have come from the factory that way, doesn't it? In fact, I wish it had, cuz it encourages me to keep the revs up and I can check it with my peripheral vision - two safety factors. It installs easily and is well worth every penny, no matter what you pay for it.

Looking good. thumb up
Ricz,
Looks very good. In fact, that is probably my next purchase. Question - can you install the tach on either side of the speedo?

In a word...yes.

Agreed, best thing I've added so far. thumb up
Looks great - where did you purchase, how much?

How easy was the install?

Thanks in advance! Don
Don,
I bought it at my local dealer for $165 which was an excellent price. I think they wanted to move it out of inventory as they had just the one and it was an open box - maybe a return. Honda East Toledo quoted $169 for the kit - next best price. Don't forget to use the code for an extra 5%. Install was simple: disconnect speedo wire in headlight nacelle / remove bracket / remove speedo and small grommets from bracket / install speedo, tach and grommets, per instructions, into new bracket / attach to bike / reconnect speedo wire / dig around for tach connector and hook it up. Viola! Helpful tip: spray the two small grommets with silicone and they will remove and install a lot easier. If you know which end of the screwdriver is the handle, it'll be an easy job for you.
Switching the positions of the speedometer and the tach may not be legal in countries that drive on the right side of the road...

Oh, that's not in the instructions? :ltr:

You might have a point there, as most car tachs are to the right of the speedo. It's that way in my 300C, so that's where I put it on my bike. I get confused too easily and don't want to tell the cop, I was only doing 30! :crzy::ltr:

This is pure speculation, but since the presence of the tachometer is optional, I would assume there is no such law.
Tach on my TSX is on the left, so that's where I'll put it. Just ordered one today :)

Thanks for the infocheers
I really hope nobody thought I was serious because I just made it up. I can honestly that I've seen a few european bikes and cars that did have the tach to the left of the speedo ad the tach was much larger than the speedo. I guess RPM is more important than speed in some cases.
Hi Ricz!

Are you still here? A little help needed

Thanks,
Andrew

Sorry to say Ricz has passed away. He is missed.
I bought a Cross Roads and I would like to install a tachometer. I got a Hammer tach, but the braclet is different. Does anybody has a solution for that? I would buy a tach kit (part #2878209) but there is no one for sale.

thanks,
Andrew
