All,

I was trying to horn in on the CrossRoads Group Buy thread when he sent me a number to call D & D direct. They have a discontinued set of slip ons that we can get a great deal on (490-12E).

Pricing Details:

Group size 6-10: $275 plus shipping
Group size 11-15: $245 plus shipping

Technical Details from Kevinx as I understand them.

Stage 1 remap required if only changing from stock to these (no intake changes)
Use different versions if catalytic converters are removed (recommended if your state doesn't have issues)

I can give you more detail if you want it, but the information I have is specifically for Kingpin and Vegas models.

I can email a sound clip for those that are interested. I couldn't figure out how to put it here. Send me a PM with email info and I will send it.

Here are the pictures:

RE: Group Buy

I was also thinking about my response from Kevin about the D & Ds that are for 2008 and 2009 models. He said they would fit my 06 with either drilling a new hole or replacing the exhaust hangar with a 2008 part. I am assuming the opposite could also be done to make these fit 2008 and 2009 models.

That would open this group buy thing up to those with 08 and 09 models. If 08, 09 owners are interested please ask Kevin if I am correct in my thinking.

Maybe moving the thread to this forum will elicit some responses.

I'm a little confused....would the 09 Vegas be included in this? And for the remap, does anyone know approximately how much the dealers typically charge for this?

RE: Confused

Big Shawn (BS for short):ltr: I think the slip ons would work for you, but I am not completely sure. If you look at the pictures you will notice a stamped metal mounting plate between and behind the mufflers. This plate is slightly different for the 2008-09 models. I think it could be modified slightly to accomodate these pipes. The other option would be to get the 06 version of the mounting plate (dealer take off possibly) that I believe could directly replace the 08-09 part.

The re map cost is something you would have to call the dealer about. I will call mine, but no guarantees they charge the same amount.

If you call a dealer about the remap ask about the mounting plate.

Re: Remap

Big Shawn I hope I didn't upset ya with my joke.

Anyway the cost at my dealership is $220 to remap.

They broke it down this way. They have to order a calibration card for $158 plus tax. Then they charge $50 labor.

This whole scam about ordering a calibration card is nuts. Every bike of the same model and year need to be calibrated the same so why do they have to have a card? Just a way to make money I guess.

I am thinking of putting in an aftermarket fuel tuner that would give me the added flexibility of doing different pipes or even messing around with the intake side.

I don't think it is much more to get the fuel tuner.

Re: Pipes

I can't believe that someone out there is not interested in improving their sound and performance so cheaply. If no one responds with interest in the next week I will ask Diamond to close the thread.

D & D slip on quality and a super low price.

I am still working on bringing the price down even more.
