+In this first image you can see the speed sensor mounted in the engine case just forward of the ECM box/heat shield and just behind the uppermost section of the drive sprocket cover.
and just below the bend in the rear exhaust pipe in this image

When it's replaced, you get this (minus my oily mess) (original in-place with wire snippage) (replacement sensor at sprocket)
