Since these coatings are very thin compared to paint or powder coating; I was wondering if anyone thought it would be a good idea to use on things like forks where the clearance to slide into position is an issue. It's supposed to wear very well too.

It could probably be used to re-coat flat black parts that got scratched up after prepping them correctly. Anyway; just a thought.

What do you think?

Lauer DuraCoat Ultra Flat Firearm Finish

Oh; and now there are air dry products that don't need to be baked at a certain temp for a certain amount of time which means any of us can apply it as long as we prep the part correctly.

I'm not sure what to say. It works from here. At any rate it's a link to a bottle of Duracoat with hardner at Midway.com; a sports and firearm site.

You could just google Duracoat and find lots of sources for the product. It and Cerakote.
