Any one on here able to supply a set of cams? ( I'm in the uk and victory parts are harder to find than hens teeth, crazy prices and loooong delivery when someone will import them)

There is nothing you can do to the ECM. You have to send it to Lloydz to get that done.
You need a PCV for adding fuel

 

I've currently got a power commander 5 fitted , but this is going up for sale - won't be needed.
I know the accepted knowledge is that the victory ECU can't be remapped.
I have a friend who works writing software / mapping ECUs for race teams. He built my ZZR motor and mapped that on his dyno with spectacular results. He always maintained that if it had an ECU he could remap it - so I rolled my victory into his workshop and threw down the gauntlet. The ECU is indeed locked, and protected on two levels by different codes. It took ten minuets of trying for him to gain access to the ECU coding which he proudly displayed on screen pointing out which streams of data did what.
Along with the fuelling the ignition timing can also be adjusted too - so no timing wheel needed.
I'm having my brothers bike mapped on the dyno mid April for his birthday (not a victory) and will be having mine done at the same time.
What I really want is a someone who can supply a Set of cams and ship them as a gift or as used parts - import tax into the uk is a major pain and the uk agents for lloydz kit only order in batches, was told some stuff is on back order for months and the prices they charge when they do have it stings to say the least.

As a programmer and bit of a hacker for many years, my question would now be .... although he has gained access and can see the codes, will he be able to save any changes????

 

Yes, the price of Victory bits in the UK is f***ing ridiculous.
I got all my Lloydz parts from Conquest Customs. The service is great and the shipping costs reasonable.
Impossible to avoid duty though. I doubt you will find second hand cams for sale.
Tell me more about this ECU remap. Sounds very interesting indeed. Can he extend the revs and do away with the speed limiter as well? If he can do this he has another customer!
I enquired through one of Lloydz UK agents about the Lloydz ECU remap and they just spun me a crock of ****.

 

Hi Jocky , I'll be happy to point you in the direction of my mates dyno.
With regard to second hand cams - doubt I'll find any too, but if a friendly retailer in the states would sell me some new ones and ship them as either a gift or as used parts it would save me a bundle as import duty on used parts is much lower - as would be the declared value for customs

He should now write a booklet and sell it. Get some cash for all those years of hard work. I'd love to know how he did it and what it takes as would many others everywhere, I'm sure.

I have a question. Is he able to tell if the ignition timing is different in the first three gears, compared to the last three? I think the pulsing at low rpm, especially in first and second, is related to the ignition timing

 

Yes he will be able to tell if it's different and has already said the ignition timing can be moved + or - through the ECU .
The zzr that he built for me has a much more complex ECU than the one victory use , on that he raised the Rev limit, removed the top speed limiter and removed the torque limiter in the first three gears.
As well as creating a number of profiles used based on speed, gear, throttle position and rate of opening on the throttle sensor.

 

Could it be possible in the future to remapping ECU including connectors (plug & play) then sell them to us ?? Not sending our own but just a new ECU with connectors ?

He could supply this to and for any vic ,,, would be profitable right ??

Not sure on the software he uses - I can ask the question. He's not developing anything to sell, he makes his money remapping and dynoing bikes although I can speak to him about how to spread the love for all you guys that are not in the uk

 

If he could offer a remap service like Lloydz does in the UK that would be cool.

 

He does remaps live on the dyno, so the map should be 100% spot on for that actual bike.
He's currently working for a company but is shortly going it alone so thats part of the reason I haven't posted his contact details just yet.

Some of his work is pretty amusing- like remapping brand new, standard bikes for manufacturers to give to the press to ride.
Makes you wonder every time you read in one of the "comics" that the throttle response of the new model xyz is much improved over last years model lol.

Not had my bike mapped yet, was due to visit the dyno mid April , might be delayed a little as I'm now sticking some cams in and having an exhaust made before having the remap - shouldn't hold things up much though.

Good news for everyone else though, spoke today and my friend is working on a system to allow him to remap the bikes ECU over a Internet connection. Within the next month or two you should be able to take your bike to whichever dyno you normally use and have your bike unlocked and remapped By him remotely.

 

Thought I'd update this thread,
Due to a series of events (moved house last month - and now own an empty shell of a building that has "lots of potential" but had left me the wife and our daughter living at my mothers)
Anyway, due to funds shrinking the plan to drop in cams had gone on hold.
Tomorrow I pick the bike up with its new stainless 2 into1 exhaust, so far it looks like nothing I've seen on another victory.

This Saturday its booked in for the power commander v taking off and the ECU remapping on a rolling road.

I'll post pics and dyno results once I'm back.

Custom 2 into 1 exhaust with O2 sensors fitted
S&S billet intake
And that's it, I'll be advancing the ignition through the ECU so no timing wheel

Bike has S&S intake and that's it.

 

Shouldn't the lower red AFR line be ideally straight?

I couldn't really read the others but the torque and HP lines looked great from my novice observation.

 

AFR line should in a perfect world be straight, earlier runs with it set that way had dips in either the torque or horse power lines, so it's a trade off, my HP and torque curves are very pleasing but I won't win any awards for helping save the planet with a perfect AFR

Were you able to see if the timing was different for different gears?

 

interesting.. how is it to ride. Any low speed bucking/jerking
does it still run on the o2 sensors at cruise or are they disconnected
guess it is to early for economy figures ,keep us posted

 

O2 sensors are connected. to ride the bike is great very linear. On the road it pulls like a train the motor spins up really quickly, no stutters bucking or anything negative.

Rev limit hasn't been raised - yet, but I don't think there would have been huge amounts more to be had without some more mods, although the rev limiter is now a really easy place to find as the revs pick up so much quicker than before

 

The software my bike is running is not modified Victory code, it is entirely new firmware authored by my friend. The ECU and hardware are victory, all the victory firmware is erased and replaced. Mine is bike number 001 and further modifications / development will be made as and when funds allow.
Unfortunately as with all addicts, my next fix is already calling

 

Will the diagnostic still work for the dealer considering the firmware has been erased?

 

Been hearing about some new cams from Wyrd brothers for the Vics (anybody else heard or know of them?) and as one part of the three members of Wyrd brothers is UK based I'm thinking the cams may be more easily available at sensible money (for me)
Also looking at a UK made version of the Torque tubes (well it will be UK made once I Finish getting it off the drawing board and onto my bike)
NOTE: not looking to copy Lloyzz T Tubes, I'm looking at fabricating in stainless and having a ceramic coating applied (Zircotec.co.uk) to keep intake temperatures nice and cool.

I've discussed remapping other bikes globally and it is possible, currently it would involve sending my friends kit and his software out to wherever the bike is. There other ways. But there could be a simpler answer - my wife works for a major airline so flying out isn't a big problem, ECU party?
