Engine light on after washing bike

Yep, I had the problem one time. Washed the bike and when I started it, the engine light was on. I drove down the road about 12 miles and stopped. When I restarted the bike no engine light was on. I noticed a very slight amount of moisture still near the starter. I got home and noticed a sensor connection near the starter. Don’t know what it goes too but I cleaned it out as it was slightly corroded and applied electrical grease and haven’t had any more problems.
