Can confirm battery was issue with mine.
Bike would barely run, very rough trying to idle.
Bike would die on me.
Starting bike drained battery down to low voltage and had to rev it high for several minutes to overcome the weak battery and get enough voltage for proper idle.
Almost left me stranded 3 hours from home.

Your volt meter on dash should read high immediately after you start the bike.
If it's hanging on the low voltage side you might have a broken battery.
At least new batteries are cheap to try.

Not sure where battery cost that much.

I've been told you take them to auto parts store and do AUTO test on it and it will show if it's failing. The light duty standard test won't show issues.
Just what I've been told haven't tried it myself.

Never did say if you checked all the tubes going into IAC for cracks.

Who knows maybe all that moving stuff around to check it fixed it. 🤷‍♂️

That is definitely odd.
I know you mentioned replacing IAC.
Wondering about wiring. Poor connection. Wire broken inside insulation. Wire that rubbed through and is grounding out. Something like that.

You do any projects on bike before the issue started?

eBay used ECU.
Those rarely go bad though which still makes me think wiring or connector issue.

Did you wiggle around wires when doing your tests?

Sounds similar to how my bike was doing before replacing battery. When it's idling bad is your volt meter really low?

I thought few pages ago we thought the new IAC was bad. That sucks to be true though. Glad you got it all fixed up. Good thread here for future reference when someone else has the issue come up.

That's some serious electrical WTF going on there...

You try pulling every fuse that isn't needed to run motor?

Should run but might not run 100% same.
Victory had several different tunes for these bikes.
I ran mine with a tune off another 106 and it ran but the timing map was all different so it didn't feel the same. I didn't keep it like that long. It might have been fine but I started from scratch maybe just was overthinking it. The Maximus I've been told trashes all the factory tunes in favor of something generic to start tuning. So it probably doesn't matter.

Should be fine I just hope that is the fix for you. Really rare for a bike ECU to go out so bad luck if that is the cause.

I touched on that above that multiple XC same year have slightly different tunes. It's a Polaris thing even on Indians. From the last post though I think they are saying that even the ECM swap didn't fix it and issue still occurs.

I assume you have already tried completely disconnecting everything added on including that air horn?

You really need a helper so one can be revving the engine while the other wiggles wiring.

Assuming you can get it to do it while sitting still.

Kill switch checks good. I have pulled the horn and moved some wires around to check for chaffing. I have an idea I am working on based on what I have for wire diagram.
I posted the full wiring diagrams for 2012.
Not sure if same for your year but it might be useful.

I understand. Until you can do it on demand you stuck throwing money at guesses. :(
