I've only had my XR for a few months and the longest day ride so far has been 400 miles. This afternoon I leave for a long weekend trip to the Ozarks. Should put about 1500 miles on the bike. I'll report back when I return. :)

I have taken two trips from Florida to Tennessee (the Dragon & Gatlinburg). The first trip was in late September and it was cold in the mornings with a high in the 60's during the day and no rain. The second trip was just last week with more rain than I would like with highs in the upper 80's to low 90's during the day. Both trips the bike, despite the weather had no problems at all. Both trips totaled around 1600 miles in 5 days. A lot of riding when I was there but also a lot of stops and time taking pictures and such.

I just returned from my trip. I had a great time and I'm happy to report that the XR ran flawlessly. One minor issue was that my cruise control stopped working after riding through a thunderstorm. After about an hour it was working again. I can only surmise that something got wet and after it dried out began working again. I'll have the dealership take a look at it when I go in for my 5000 mile service.

The Ozarks are a beautiful part of the country with lots of great roads. I rode from TX to Hot Springs with a buddy of mine who has a Fatboy. We met up with two other friends in Hot Springs, one on a Road King and the other on a Kingpin Tour. All the bikes ran great. The only hiccup was that the Fatboy lost a aftermarket footpeg and a bolt from the slip on exhaust. Next time Loctite will be used by the Fatboy owner. :)

On the entire trip, which spanned about 1400 miles, I only saw two other Victory's. There was a Vision on a trailer at the hotel we stayed at in Hot Springs and we saw a black Cross Country at a lunch stop in the Ozarks. Most of the hundreds of bikes on the road and in the parking lots were Harley's and there were some Goldwings around too. Surprisingly, there were also a lot of trikes on the road. As usual, I did not see another XR during the 5 day trip.

Luckily, we didn't need any assistance from the dealership. Interestingly enough, we passed 3 Victory dealers and only 2 Harley dealers on the trip.
