for those that debate value for Victory versus HD. OTD price on a Judge depending on location is roughly MSRP. $14000 from several threads I have read and paid attention to. Trade in value on the Judge is a little over 9k, trade in value for the closest rival the Fat Bob is 10.7K. MSRP for the Fat Bob is $15,500 in black and $500 more for the color option. Now The Fat Bob goes OTD for about another 1K to 1.5K due to setup, delivery, HD wax tax and whatever else they charge. So they both drop the same amount from MSRP but you end up losing more on the HD because of the additional fees that they charge.

Not that it matters one bit as I bought for REAL reasons but I compared before buying my 2012 RED Cross Country Tour with a 12 HD electraglide and Road glide ultra... BOTH Vic and HD lost $ 5000.00 equally in NADA resale pricing.. Equally. And that did not take into account all the Extra fee's
the HD dealer casually tosses in... :^)

Ya can't price " memories" of a worthy Hi mileage motorcycle

Bought a new 08 Electra Glide Standard and a 09 Ultra Classic .. Both were left over and the newer year models were out .. but just wanted to add never paid any set up and delivery BS fees on either one of them .. Are 16 HD Dealers all within 200 miles (10 are 100 ) driving range of my home and Made it plain they didn't want to deal would move on elsewhere .. I have never bought a Bike thinking about resale though .. I buy them to Ride .. Only reason my Ultra is gone is got tired of taking it in for warranty issues every month, a couple times twice a month .. I put too many miles on a Bike for it to make much difference anyway .. Dealers always are looking for anyway they can to jack down the price of your trade .. I have been told 5,000 miles a year is a Motorcycle Average Mileage .. I had twice that when it was 6 months old ..

When I bought my Vulcan 900, I was pretty sure it wouldn't be my last bike. So I did a little looking as to how much value they lost and how much of a bath I could expect in a trade. I honestly figured I'd have it 4 or 5 years, till it was paid for, but it didn't work that way.

Got it out the door brand new for less than $7k and traded it 2 years later for $4500 and didn't take a bath at all. That figures up to "renting" that bike for around $50/month (if you're weird like me and look at it that way).

When I bought the XR, I didn't give a good God-damn what it would be worth in a year or 5, because I planned to ride that SOB till the wheels fall off.

That's still the plan, btw.

The only time I saw a a value remain or go up was my 96 virago 535. Bought for 1400 off Craigslist and traded it on for 1500 when bought my royal star. Starter bikes ya know

Not that I plan to sell her anytime soon... the thread got me curious. I paid $14,900 for my 2010 XR two years ago. With military discounts, passenger backrest, passenger floorboards, and tax, title, tags it was just over $15k otd.

KBB Retail $12,420 ($8,960 trade-in)
NADA Retail $12,205 ($9,275 trade-in)

A lot better than I expected.

I'm completely with Luci on this, God bless his soul. :)

Bought my Vulcan 900 for a little over $7k (leftover 2009 model in early 2011). Thought I was getting a deal and that I would have it for 4 or 5 years. Didn't work out that way. Still trying to sell that bad-boy. Owe about $4800 and all I get from Craigslist is spam... Bought a 2011 XR in the Spring of 2012 and I don't give a crap about resell cause I'll never sell it. I may get myself buried with her... :):)

The last bike I owned that was worth more than I paid for a '90 Evo,$9k sold for $11k 2 yrs. later.I paid $2900 for a new '73 shovel and sold it for $4k 11 yrs later.LOl those days are long gone.I've owned 3 twin cam baggers that all dropped $5K the minute I signed the purchase agreement.A $25.5K '10 FLHTK-26k mi. in 16 mos. with over $2k in mods $1k in accessories was quoted worth aprox. $18k trade in on a new HD bagger. The Vic. dealer gave me $20k trade in on the Vision, basically I traded straight across.Love the Vision,I'm happy, happy, happy.

LOL!! Those pics remind me of a Will Smith line from the first MIB movie comparing himself to Tommy Lee Jones.. Not that it completely applies as that's a nice glide. "Old and busted.. New Hotness"

I was originally looking at a used 2013 AG XC at my dealer with only 2k miles on it. (the original owner got it before the 15th anniversary XCT came out, then quickly traded it back in for that XCT).

Anyway, the used XC sold within a couple days, before I could get my sh!t together. $17,900 for a used. Probably more than I was going to pay for used anyway. I've purchased many bikes over the years from this dealer, and he knew that I was not happy about losing the opportunity to deal on this one.

So they had one new AG XC left. List $20,999. My price $18,200 OTD (rebate and special dealer coupon). So I ended paying about the same price for a new one, as what the used one sold for.
