was gonna put a new yuasa in today after finally getting
the cr out. will be the 6th season. preemptive strike.
just for shits and giggles i took it to my mechanic friend[harley guy] down
the street and he hooked up his handy dandy battery tester.
437 amps and still 100% state of health. holy crap! they
are rated at 310cca. at this time my new battery will set with a tender on it. anyone else throw a tester on and get reading rated lots higher
than ratings. im not complaining. guess thats why ive stayed w/oem powersports batteries in my stuff.:smile

I do not trust testers they are not reliable.
true test of a battery is in a system with a constant load and charging

my yuasa lasted 8 years. didn't even think what kind to get next.
went to the local harley shop and bought another yuasa. Why harley you ask because they sell it cheaper the the vic shop with is 75 yards away.

My battery in my 2011 is the orginal as well, over 5 years old now. I don't have a battery tester but I do hook it up to a battery tender over night once every week or two in the winter. Bike starts up just fine but I too am starting to think I may need a new one before I take any long trips this year.
