So I'm guessing most people with an XR or XC haven't even thought about this given the nature of these bikes, but I'm picking up a 2011 XR soon (just waiting on financing...shouldn't be an issue) and am not a fan of the two up setup...or even having the pillion.

So far, I've seen one (Corbin) that makes something close to a solo. And, with the dipped fender, a true solo isn't even really possible without heavy mods. The Gunfighter at least cleans things up nicely. Anyone know of anyone else I may not be aware of that would have one? I may look in to custom too.

Other question is the passenger pegs. Anyone know if they and the bracket (holy huge!) can be removed "easily". I took a quick look and I'm guessing they can be for the most part, but wanted to see if anyone has done it and noticed any issues.

You are extremely limited in how small you can go with the pillon because of the whole in the fender.
Yeah.... :( It's the one "concession" I had to make to buy this bike. But, I can work with it. I'm going to do some paint work next Winter or the following and might fab in the rear hole and get a custom saddle...but then I'll be REALLY limiting myself for resale. Just have always liked the solo saddle look and comfort. Makes it easy when the wife has her own scoot. :)

ALStensby,
The left side bracket comes off easily, but the right side requires part of the exhaust to come off.

Did you do it to yours? If so, were you able to just place the bolt back in without a problem? Or would I need spacers? I don't have the bike in my garage until next week so can't dig in to it myself.
