You may have come across member Goody2667 as the fabricator and then painter of his metal lowers for the XC(T)s. To refresh your memory, see this long thread on the lowers: http://www.victoryforums.com/showthread.php?t=50641 . (Goody's web page is https://www.facebook.com/MidwestCustomCreations .)

Anyway, after reading through that thread when it was more active, it occurred to me to PM Goody to see whether he'd paint my fork guards. I'm talking about the black metal replacements for the dopey, flimsy, stock plastic ones (which I gave to a member who broke one), from KewlMetal (see http://www.kewlmetalstore.com/product_info.php?products_id=598 , if interested -- besides being unbreakable, these provide more coverage than the stockers, too).

It turns out that for a very modest fee, Goody painted these to match my '12 Sunset Red XCT. I got them back in the mail today, and they're a perfect match, and dress up the front of the bike very nicely, IMHO. Recommended.

If it were riding season around here -- there's a couple of feet of snow outside -- I'd have taken better pictures, in natural light, with the bike outside. For now, see attached.

Damn WS, you have added something else to my "wish" list. Those really do set the front of the bike off. I wonder how they would look on a non-fairing X bike?

Sorry about that. Hmmm, I don't have a great artistic sense, but my guess is that they'd look better than the cheesey stock guards.

BTW, I was fortunate in that the metal ones were a gift to me from a biker friend in Canada, who is a frequent house guest at my place. That made the whole deal a real bargain.

You know it's really not fair to be forcing the rest of us to spend our money like this.
