Still experimenting
Installed Cee Baileys' FLECTORS, quite a bit of difference buffeting wise, at the cost of a little more heat
Been running Klockwerks Flip, since day one (6 months)
Installed the Gustafsson today, and I have to say that it performed better than the KW.
Still trying to get used to the looks of the Gustafsson. It appears to be MUCH higher, but is actually less than an inch higher than KW.
I am 5'8" and ordered the +3 Euroflip
Whaddaya think?

When you say "performs better" what do you mean? I have the KW and I like it because it seems to be a compromise. It protects pretty well from the cold but seems to let enough air over it in the warmer weather. Those adjustable windshields on the vision and the chieftain are intriguing to me.

I think it looks good. Is that the light grey tint and does it put the wind over your head? Do you look through it or over it? I'm 5' 9" and I was planning on going with the Gustofson +2" (11" tall) Euro Flip Shield. How is the distortion compared to the KW shield?

Yes, that is the light grey
I am having to try and not look through it,wish I would have gone 1" LOWER, but then not sure if it would work as well.
KW was perfect as far as looking over, but still get some buffeting.
As far as distortion...ZERO compared to KW
Where exactly do you live? Wanna try it out?

I'm in Florence between 79 and Hunt Hwy, not too far from Gold Canyon.

I may be interested in trying it. I taped a paper tape measure on my 17" shield and ran some string across the glass at 11" and from that experiment it looks like even the Gustafson +2" (11" tall) shield would put the top of the glass right in my field of vision. I've heard that the custom paint XC's come with a 7" tall tinted shield and the regular paint XC's came with a 9" clear shield. I hear Gustafson uses the Clear 9" standard XC glass to base their windshield sizes off of. If that's true your Gustafson is 12" tall making it 5" taller than your stock 7" tinted shield? How tall is the glass right down the center?

This is what Madstad recommends for rider height. Keep in mind that they only recommend Non flip style glass with their brackets but I suppose this could be used as a guide, a flip style shield allows you to go a little shorter.

*Shield sizing for the Victory models is as follows:
*For riders up to 5'7, we recommend is to go with the 9" shield height.
*For riders 5'8" to 6'0" we recommend the 11" shield height.
*For riders 6'1" and over we recommend the 13" shield height.

I meant to ask you about your mirrors are they the flat glass or convex reduced image glass? I think yours are the Ellipse, I have those on my Harley I want to try something different maybe the large head long stem Magnum mirrors. The Vic doesn't shake as much the Harley does so I'm wondering if the flat glass will be better for me.

Oh yeah, we ride down past you all the time.
The "stock" XC shield is indeed a 9", as you said. The Gustafsson is measured from that 9" figure,so my +3 IS 12" tall. I have not actually measured it,but I can.
I also have a Mustang seat, which is supposed to be a little lower.
We took shield measurements at the Mesa store, before I ordered

My mirrors are from Victory, and I like them a lot. They are flat.
If you want to check things out in person, let me know.

It might be a good idea to check it out in person. I forgot about the Victory mirrors, I think Kuryakyn makes them for Victory.
