Hi Guys,
I posted my first over in the Hammer section, but will say Hello to All here too. I am brand new at the Victory brand, having been aware of them, but never doing any more than admiring the occasional one parked someplace.

I have been searching for a new Guzzi Griso SE, but they are all sold out and in the interim search, discovered an 08 leftover Hammer S whose paint job really grabs me. I'm not a chrome and loud pipes guy so you can see why the black and silver 08 got my attention. For grins, here is the green Goose:http://www.motoguzzi-us.com/en_US/prodotti/naked/griso_8v/griso_8v_se/immagini.aspx

I will ride this HamS early next week to determine if I can live with the fat rear tire and ergonomics, but being 6'3", 34" inseam at 210# and in good shape (except for a lower back that gets tired), I think I'll manage it. This will be a second, cruising machine. My 07 BMW K1200GT will stay in the stable for longer touring.

Any wisdom, cautions or recommendations on the seriously discounted 08 will be welcome. Thx.

Ray

You'll get used to the tire in minutes while driving. Slow speed shouldn't take much longer. Do your demo and make sure to get in slow, straights, twisties, and acceleration "tests".

The bike will sell itself; it may not ride as smooth as your BMW but I'm sure the handling and power will surprise you.
