So, I have been dying to write this review about Hacker Ripper (HR) but I decided to wait till I got my exhaust back before I did. It all started with my stupid idea of trying to move my motorcycle without being on it. We all know how this goes I dropped the bike and had a couple of scuffs on the pipes I had just purchased and installed on the bike from HR. After searching for someone to re-coat the pipes in north Florida and getting nowhere I decided to send them back...big F-ing mistake! The lady that answers the phone at HR is customer service retarded. Then she quoted my re-coat after I had sent her pics of the scratches at 70 dollars. When I heard this I was ecstatic, so I sent them out. This is where the clusterf***k begins! She told me that they couldn't do 70 because the coater company was charging more. Then she added more because they had to buff out the scratch, mind you that I had sent her pics which she saw but at this point I just wanted my pipe back so I didn't fight it. A month passes by and I am going crazy because I haven't been able to ride my bike. I place a call to HR and they hadn't even sent them out for re-coat. It took another 3 weeks for them to finally sent them to me and I finally got them on. That took a total of two months. TWO F-ING MONTHS FOR A F-ING RE-COAT!!!! Look learn from me and if you are thinking about going with them DON'T!!! Their customer service is ****!!!! Don't understand how they are still in business!!!

I was happy with them but once I had to send them out for repair that was a whole different story! I started looking at reviews and you are like the second out of like 20 reviews with something positive to say. I bet you wouldn't be so happy if you had to deal with those retards for a repair!!

Yeah I did get the feeling that if I had problems with my pipes that customer service might not be all that great, but for the price I paid I kinda expected that.

There is an unswered question here. Did they do a good job with the repair?

The repair didn't come out bad (cost 240) but they did a poor job packaging the pipe up. So when it got to my house the part that attaches to the engine had a couple of scratches but at this point I didn't even want to try I just wanted to ride!!!

It appears they haven't learned anything over the years. I found out the hard way myself, years ago. Was hoping they'd changed for the better... guess not.

I agree, just got my yesterday and they sound sweet! But their customer service was a bit hard to get around at times. I would say if someone was to buy from them don't expect to have the product in your hands right away, they said 3-4 weeks and it took 8.

I was hesitant on ordering their exhaust but it seemed like the best sounding exhaust I could find so I was willing to try them out despite the negative things I have heard.

cheers

Sounds like the same thing my brother dealt with. He placed a order for a set of rippers on his highball back in March and they are in transit now after over two months. That is a serious customer service issue in my opinion. I hope they do get on these forums and read all of the comments about them. As soon as someone comes along making the same product at the same price and can get you pipes in a week to your door Hacker will be out of buisness.

Sorry to hear of your bad luck, so if it hadn't been dropped, the only complaint would be the time from order to receiving them? $750 for pipes and $240 re-coat.. whew.

Gotta love an engine guard. That $230 has saved plenty in touch-ups or replacement parts.
I "walked" mine down in the garage, and the only thing that touched the ground was the guard itself.

I'm in the same boat. I ordered my exhaust almost 6 weeks ago and am still waiting for it to ship. Last update is it was sent to coaters this week. As far as the customer service I don't have any experiences with people being rude and everytime I called for updates the lady and Mr Hacker were polite but it does irritate me when a company states one thing and delivers another. I understand that things come up when muliple hands are there to complete your exhaust but don't set an expectation of 3-4 weeks when in reality it's typically 6-8. I think if they would of been up front with me in the first place it wouldn't be a big deal waiting. From what I've heard from others the product is good and worth the wait. Time will tell for me.

Yep ordered my pipes back in March and got them last week. People say worth the wait. I'm not sure how a 700 dollar exhaust is worth the wait. Lets keep in mind that this is just two tubes of bent metal that have been coated. An there customer service really makes you feel like your getting the run around. I'm mean I understand that maybe 1 or 2 peoples exhaust get backordered. But it seems like 90% of people are having issues with this company. An you have to get pissed enough to threaten to cancel the order before they move on it. Don't know how someone can run a company like that. If i need a repair on the exhaust I'll likely just wait till the off season. That way I can at least keep riding.

I love my Rippers but unfortunatly have had to deal with thier customer service more than once. Ordered my pipes in Jan and finally recieved them in march after being told 2 weeks. I was expecting that after doing some research on them. After having the pipes on 2 to 3 weeks I had a weld on a baffle crack and had to call them. They said no problem but we need to have the part back and we will turn it around in 24hrs. So I priority mail it to them and it sits at the post office waiting for them to pick it up for 3 days. I call them to inform them that its at the post office and she tells me "thanks for letting us know we'll get someone down there to pick it up"(how does a business not have mail delivery). Well after 3 weeks total time I finally get my baffle back repaired. Unfortunatly last week it broke again after about 1000 miles of riding. I called and they are sending me a new one this time how long it will take is anybodies guess. I don't think it's that they don't care or don't want to stand behind thier products. I think they are just so laid back and have no sense of urgency. I've noticed from traveling some parts of the country are like that they are definitly not from the east coast

I know this is a very old post but it still comes up on google when I search hacker ripper for Vegas.

I just bought a 08 Vegas 8-Ball with Hacker Rippers + Anger Management fuel controller and was having them popping on decel a lot on the ride home after buying. Every time I let off the throttle pretty much.

I emailed their tech support last night, my time at 10:34pm Eastern time on a Saturday night. I received a response....the same Saturday night at 11:22pm Eastern time with an answer to my question. The original owner had the Anger Management controller set up for settings that were a few years outdated and the paper work he gave me was also out dated.

Over the years they had made changes to the settings to best complement a stage 1 set up.

Now I was not expecting a response until Monday at the earliest and from how most shops return emails. I would have been happy getting a response by Friday, but they got back to me in under an hour, on the weekend and late at night.

So since 2012 when this post came about the customer service must have completely been changed around because I would call that email exchange between myself and their tech info people AMAZING for them to response so quickly at night on a weekend.

I cannot speak to ship time or ordering but the tech support was the best I have ever had for receiving a response to an email.

Sorry to bring this post so far back from being dead but it is the first thing to pop up when I google Hacker Ripper Vegas or Baffles.

I wanted people to know my experience with at least their tech support.

Popping on decel did you put in new gaskets.
Popping on decel is because you have air leak at exhaust flange. Check bolts go for ride and recheck cause they will loosen up on you

I didn't install the exhaust it was on the bike when I bought it Friday. I did check the bolts last night and one of them on the front cylinder was maybe 2 turns from being fully tightened. And I will check them again once I get a ride in and let the exhaust heat up.

Reason I thought it may be the settings is the paperwork I was given for the fuel controller adjustment has a notation -- mode 4 (fuel addition during De-acceleration) "can help tune for backfiring/popping". The settings on the paperwork did not match the website, so I thought this may be leading to the popping. It does not pop while idling or accelerating only when I would let off the gas, so I am hoping that between the settings and the loose nut it will be fixed or greatly reduced on decel. Love th eway to exhaust sounds at speed and idling, don't like popping on decel though. Will have my taxes paid, title transferred and tags on it tomorrow. Supposed to only get up in the mid 50's but I'm going to have to make a ride I think.
