Hi, I have a 2008 with the pointy headlight, this has halogen for both low and high beams. I bought a 05 headlight that is the round shaped design, and has an HID balast/light for the low beam and halogen for the high beam. I can fit my old socket to the high beam.

How do I wire in the 08 connector to fit the 05 connector, they are much different? Will my existing wiring work with this if I find the right connector?

Where do I get the connector that fits the 05 low beam hid.

The factory HID uses a completely different bulb mount. You can only put that bulb inside the headlight for the low beam, which in turn will require a factory HID ballast. It's cheaper to just buy another headlight bucket (non factory HID) even if you cannot sell the one you just got. But you should try to re-sell the headlight you've got. It's the right one for someone out there.

The headlight I bought actually came with the hid bulb, the socket and a little metal box on the outside of the socket which I thik is the balast.

With that being said, could I cut the stock wires from my low beam connector and wire in a plug for the hid balast. The hid balast has a small connector which appears to have three prongs. My low beam has two wires. I don't know if this would work, but just looking at options right now. I am also looking at the full halogen headlight like you mentioned.

Oh yeah $500 for a balast isn't gonna work lol. Too bad Cross country doesn't have a socket that would fit the stock hole on the hid headlight assembly.
Cross country?

I'll look into the posibility of getting you an OEM HID ballast replacement. It won't be cheap, but it won't be $500 either. Will let you know in the next few days.

If I were in your shoes, I would continue to look for a good deal on a halogen headlight in the mean time, as that will be the most cost effective path for you.

Oops, been a long tired week so far. Sorry about that.

As for the ballast, I would appreciate the quote. BTW, is the ballast a direct plugin with the stock wiring connector for a halogen socket? I want to avoid cutting splicing wires if I can.

I am looking at a couple listings on ebay for the halogen low/high light assembly.

I don't know the answer to that. You will end up having to try it out and let us all know the verdict, as you're probably the first one on this path. Take some pictures if you can/want of the current connectors, and I will try to help out with what I know.
