Gents, told you when I joined that I'd have tons of questions for you.

So here goes.. Bad part of being the third owner of this bike, is mostly that the first owner is unknown, and the one that actually built the bike.

With this said, I have the Victory stage 1 swept pipes and have no idea if they were purchased with the bike when new, and don't want to assume that it was flashed by the dealer.

So my question is... If it has a tuner installed, where can I find it on my Hammer???? Or are these tuners like the Superchips that I use on my Jeep, where you connect it to the port, install the tune and unplug it???

Anyway to know if the dealer (also unknown) did anything to the bike??

Thanks for any input.

The dealer can put what they call a stage one flash on the bike's computer but the dealer flash is still lame and too lean because they still have to abide by the EPA mandates put on all motor vehicle manufacturers.

The tuner on your 09 closed loop bike, if it has one, will be under one of the side covers most likely. Just look up the Power Commander 5 and 3 to see if someone put one of those on your bike. If they used the PC3 the bike's bung holes will have a plug near the exhaust port instead of a sensor and of course the PC3 looks different than the PC-V (5).

All PC3 type tuners are the Dobeck style so no matter who made them they are based on the same design. The PC-V is better because it can be more finely tuned and is needed if you plan on putting cams in the bike.

If you don't have one; I'd consider either the PC-V or the new Maximus tuner some folks are having good luck with. They send you a laptop to connect to your bike and the tech remotely tunes it via wifi connection.

The key to getting a good tune is to do everything you want to the bike in a short amount of time in an order that allows you to ride it then get it tuned professionally or, if you're lucky, get a canned tune you can be happy with.

This is a very in depth subject so you have to do your due diligence in research to figure out what is right for you. At least you now have a starting point.

Yes thank you, I will definitely search a lot before doing anything. As per the spark plugs that I recently replaced, I am apparently not running lean, but more on the rich side.

See pic...

spark plugs look normal for a victory

As for the bike and its history. Maybe Conquest can help you. Look for serial number or any other information like year and what city and state. Get a hold of them you have nothing to lose

only way to read plugs is to start with new ones and give the bike a high speeds run in a high gear, say 4th...Kill the engine and pull in the clutch at the same time so the engine dont slow the bike.
Then pull the plugs and have a look.

Plugs that have been in for any length of time will look similar to yours from idling and low speeds around town....would take a real good long hard run to change them much and it really tells you nothing.
Now theres no lead in gasoline reading plugs has fallen by the wayside

Not sure what you mean, but if you are talking about conquest customs, I contacted them about a month ago and they said that the kit isn't theirs.

Too bad, cause I was also sure they at least supplied the kit... There I was, telling the crowd that gathered around the bike at the coffee shop that it was a Conquest Customs Cobra.... But I was wrong apparently.

So I named mine... The Shelby :-S

Nah, I am the third owner and the first one did all the mods. The second owner bought it the way it is and only put some 3000 miles on it. Health problems had him sell it to me. So I have no idea who the first owner is.

Neither do I with mine, bought my 2010 in late 2013 with 14,400kms on it.
Was solo and stock save for Freedom Performance Slash pipes and the paint.
The paint? Yeah evidently the 2010 Vegas never came out metallic blue.
Love to know it's mysteries but Ive accepted I never will and I ride on.

Is there some secret reason you don't want to put your location in your profile so we can figure out how to help you?

I've said it before; this forum should not let anyone post until they list their bike's model and year and their location even that is only the state or country.

This basic info is critical.

All depends what device youre using and what mode of the site youre on theres lots of variables and some dont show the info others do.
Im battling with that phenomenon at the moment.
It only works on chrome properly...I downloaded Firefox as Chrome was a privacy invasion but Firefox is almost useless on here.

Tapatalk doesn't show the signature. I'm guessing it's designed that way to save space and bandwidth for small device users.

To edit your location go to User CP/Edit Your Details then scroll down to the Location area and under "Where You Live" type in your state (and town if you like). Save the changes at the bottom of the page. Done.

I just figured it out on my phone how to add a signature. Like you said, there are a lot of different variables and versions of the site but the one that I found that works correctly is the "Enhanced Mobile Version" then go to the bottom of page and click on "Full Version" and you will be able to access the User CP and add or change your signature and avatar and so on.....

Navigating this forum, as well as many other things, is so user friendly on a laptop. But on my tablet, its way too frustrating. That's just one of the things that has me staying with a flip phone. Call me a Luddite, but when I'm home, which is most the time, a laptop serves well, and on the road, a flip phone works for calls. If I need to look up something, I get out the tablet. If you are going to comment, "what about music?" I have yet to download my first song. My car has a 6 CD changer (got lots of those) and a cassette player for books on tape we buy at thrift stores. My bike has the best music emanating from the pipes. More I do not need.
