I have an 11 XR. I would like to get a high flow air filter.

does anyone besides Victory make one? Does K&N make one?

any help is appreciated.
Lloydz is about to release their new air filter for XC/XR - will deliver 30% larger filter area and almost 40% more airflow over Stage 1 Filter, per their website annoucement.

The Llodz filter is nice and he's saying another performance enhancement is coming that will require this filter but at $125 plus shipping; I think it's a little steep.

K&N does not make one but a PL-1500 will fit with some trimming.

trimming

...when you say "trimming", what exactly do you mean? do you have any photos? What part needs trimming?

I've always heard that K&M are very reliable.

If you find a pic of a stock PL-1500 and compare it to this picture; you will get an idea of what you need to trim to slide it into the spot. I put that tape there but removed it later because it isn't needed. The vacuum of the intake holds it in is spot nicely.

...i saw a picture of a stock pl 1500 and it has a tab piece on one corner. is that right? did you have to cut this off for it to fit in the box? is that what you mean by trimming it? thanx

Yes. There's a little more to it but if you just set the stock one on top of the K&N and trim off what you can see of the K&N; it'll fit.

I just used a box cutter to trim it.

got it...

Will this K&N filter increase air flow bigtime? do you think i will feel any difference in performance? too much to ask for?
By itself; no. But if you take the sound strip off located on the round ridge above the filter in the pic and either install some performance mufflers that allow the air to flow better or drill out a 1-1/8" hole in the plate of the stock muffs and disconnect the O2 sensors; you will get a seat-of-the-pants increase in power you can feel and hear.

Go ahead and take the time to read THIS THREAD and I think you will have most the answers you need to do a low cost upgrade on your XC.

gotcha...when you say drill out a 1 1/8" hole in the plate of the stock muffs, do you mean drill a ring around the tail pipe?

On my old Boulevard i drilled out a ring around the tail pipe, put a broom handle thru the tail pipe and broke off the tailpipe which was part of a baffle. i used two hole saws to make the ring. Sounded much better after that.
