There is a separate forum for every Victory model except the Empulse TT. I noticed this and just wondered why. Has anybody bought one yet?

So the separate categories have to meet a minimum of sales before being created? They have already sold many Brammo motorcycles before being bought out.

That's not really true. If you check out the 2016 Victory line up the Empulse tt is one of them. I just think it should have its own sub catagory like the other Victory motorcycles, even if some idiots don't give a ****.

Send the Admin a message asking they add it. We don't really have any admin types who read the daily messages unless it's in one of their admin type posts.

The electric bikes may not be popular now but it's just a matter of time before they are. The big hurdle of course is battery charge longevity. Once they get up around 200 miles per charge and then just need a lightweight battery cassette change for another 200; they will start selling a lot more as long as the price is ok. I think this is where the Lithium batteries will become more popular and mainstream. The Empulse is way too expensive for what it is currently.

I don't see them as being all that green really because that power has to be made somewhere. The minimal maintenance is what's going to lure a lot of people I think. Those who use them for commuter purposes. The smooth quiet quickness may be a draw as well for some.

The power to charge them is being generated anyway. Just as the fossil fuel is as well but the electric used to charge the bike surely consumes less that the electric involved in pumping the crude oil out of the ground, refining it and then pumping out of the storage tanks at the gas station.

I have a Chevy Volt (runs on battery and if battery gets drained a gas engine starts to charge the battery, car always runs on battery. Plug in at night to recharge may cost me $1-1.50 and minimum on a charge is 30-32 miles in optimal conditions I have gotten 50 miles) that I have had for 3 years and 23,000 miles now. I have used a total of 130.4 gallons of gas during that time. My previous car, a Chevy HHR, got at best 26 mpg. For that same 23000 miles I would have used 884 gallons of gas.

Electric vehicles will become more prevalent in a few more years.

Are you taking into account the batteries themselves? The cost of recycling, shipping back and forth, buying new ones, etc.

I think there will be a huge break through one day in battery power or some kind of invention that generates power in a small package like the elusive cold fusion so many have dreamed about. Once that happens we will move into an entirely different era. It will be like going from the dark ages into the era of light and electricity, then the industrial age, and most currently; the digital age.

Imagine being free from power bills and the need to run power lines all over the place or filling up for a charge or fuel because one small shoe box or even smaller unit provides all the power one will need for months at a time at little cost. So little that poor people get it for free so they never have to worry about being warm or cool due to not being able to afford a utility bill. Even natural gas will become a thing of the past except for those who simply insist on using it like chefs for cooking.

The only thing stopping something like this from happening once it's invented is power companies, big oil, and by extension, the auto makers wanting to block it to preserve their market share. They will come around once they realize they just need to adjust their way of doing business. For instance; big oil won't go away because a ton of things are made with oil; not just gas and diesel. The people will still need cars so just because the engine is electric doesn't mean the auto industry collapses. Power companies have an infrastructure like no other. It can transform into another needed industry like communications and speeding up the Internet to terabit speeds.

All this is possible... in the next century. Maybe sooner. For now we get to enjoy our loud wonderful gas guzzling bikes and cars.

I'm waiting for the man-size drone type hovering cycle with quad batt motors... two in front and two in back with each one powerful enough to take over should one fail priced for under $20K and able to travel over almost any terrain.

I made this up! Would cut the curves like a crotchety rocket, skim the tops of lakes, and not give a care about pot holes. You could use either Vic bags or Indian bags on it. Comes with deer/dog/old farts radar warning. Cup holders, jphone or kphone plug-ins(iphones will be passe). All the bells and whistles for monitoring cycle health.

This is similar...

I do understand this but did you know Victories newest motorcycle is the Empulse. This is a Victory forum with a sub category for all Victory makes and of 2016 the Empulse is one of them. This is what makes Victory innovative and forward thinking. It's also what separates us from H.D. I know some people on here should still be riding their hogs but Victory is bigger than that.

Yea, I know Victory bought Brammo. Those who are eagerly waiting for the Empulse category here can spread their love and hopefully get their jollies on the Brammo forum now.

Happy New Year

Well... Real nice, Tim.

Anyone who disagrees with you must be an idiot, right?

Let it be noted that I never called you any names. I never implied that you were an idiot.

The truth of the matter is that the mainstream motorcyclist community has ZERO interest in electric motorcycles.

Personally, I wouldn't piss on an electric motorcycle if it was ON FIRE. I would bet more bikers share my sentiment than think there needs to be an electric bike section on their favorite motorcycle forum.

Well let's see the cycle is the Victory Empulse TT. This is the Victory Motorcy le forum so I see Tim's point of view but I am a little more open minded and tolerant of different points of view unlike some here who are stuck in the dark ages.

I am sure if more interest is brought to the subject of electric motorcycles then a forum will be dedicated to them. Right now there is not a whole lot of interest. That will change once the tech gets better.

Ok, so I'm wondering why Polaris bought Brammo? I guess it's destined to fail and disappear this year. What a waste of money on Polaris's part. I guess we'll have to wait for a Harley Live Wire.

Can't do it, can you? Our differences of opinion in a religion thread cannot be stand alone. They will now spill into every thread.
I'm closed minded? Stuck in the Dark Ages? C'mon, man...

I am NOT against an Empulse TT forum at all, I just think there will be little interest/almost no posting traffic in it.

Done now.

My jaw is a little sore from you shoving words in my mouth.

Let's do a poll....
