looked in the 2012 accessories book and tried a search. didnt
find a part # for the hydraulic clutch kit. i understand it is
kind of universal and routing is different than the cable on the
cross bikes. i know some of you have done it but hadnt seen a
# for it. everyone seems to like it. i would like to keep the ez pull
and dont think anyone has tried the 2 together. --ilt

forgot to mention i have 2" pullback bars. someone had also either
done a video or had instructions on how to do this on a cross
bike but havent found it. any help appreciated.
watched the video of install on a vegas.

Think with 2" pull backs your going to half to do some measuring.
Contact Witchdoctor and see about him making you up a kit.
Here is a tip after you have master cylinder attached to the bars bleed the master cylinder before hooking up the line. Add your break fluid now hold finger over line hole and slowly squeeze lever. This will put fluid into the passage way and get the air out. Do it a couple times. Make sure gas tank is covered no break fluid on it. Turn bars to right so master cylinder is at the highest point it can be.
Don't squeeze master cylinder lever if there is NO fluid in it

I'm sure some one has.
It would be no big deal to do the only problem will be how long of a hose you will need.
Withchdoctor has a video and he would be the guy to talk to call him

I have an 11 XC and had my dealer put the conversion on last summer. I am very happy and have no issues. Another plus is that the mirrors are now both at the same level nd it helps a little on the Interstate. Oh, It took less than an hour of billable time in case you don't want to do it yourself.

did they go to the vision hose or use the shorter one in the
kit and route it differently?

Used the hose that came with the kit. It needed to be re-routed a little and there is no extra hose length left.
I am very happy with the set up

I understand the benefits of this mod are:
  • Eliminates possibility of cable snapping
  • Consistent pull throughout the range of motion
Does it do anything for required pressure to engage the clutch, i.e. is it any easier?

the kit is actually for the cruisers, not the cross bikes. the
only way to route the hose is down the left side, not the right,
like it is originally. kit hose is not long enough. i would like to route
correctly. ive been told to use the vision hose. been told i cant
use the ez pull with the kit and it probably wont pull any easier
than the stock cable. just gets rid of the fear factor of cable
breakage. havent read of anyone using the longer hose in their
conversion yet. guess im afraid to try it with the stock hose in
the kit. want it to look correct..there are pics on a thread on
another unnamed forum of the conversion with the kit.--irv
