I want to publicly apologize to the group for a lousy attitude and a mouth that my grandmother would wash out with borax many times over. I want to apologize to VisionJohnny specifically for dissing him. And anyone else I may have dissed. The last couple of weeks I have had some serious personal family health issues and I guess the stress just put me over the top. I am embarrassed by my words and actions.

I ask for the groups forgiveness.
Jim
P.s. I just learned about the 'signature' and utilize this to help others when they try to help me.

Thanks to everyone

I had already decided to not open anymore of your threads due to the way you were talking to other members, whether they deserved it or not, but thread title had me interested. My suggestion is to first read you owners manual and second to do a search on here before asking a question. Most of your questions have been asked and answered in many past threads.

all part of this big [dys]functional family. we really do try to help.
just give it time. we have never had soot probs but my bike is stock.
not even the exhaust tips have been overly black. soot is
usually from richness.

First, it took guts for the OP to come out and apologize like that.

Second, the search engine on this forum is just about useless, each and every one of us realize this. You can TRY to search but chances are you'll be searching through a hundred threads that have nothing to do with what you're looking for before you finally find it. I've basically given up on using it.

Third, there is absolutely nothing wrong with coming to the forum first. Sometimes its faster to find an answer on here and sometimes the replies will be more accurate and/or include more useful information that you won't find in the manual.

Regarding talking to another member in a disrespectful manner, heck, I see it all the time. Go visit a political, religious or oil thread and you'll get all the evidence you need. Most of us I'm sure, have said something on here we regret saying. Most of us on here won't write an apology afterwards.

Indeed. I've done it, and it is worth it in how one feels after doing so.

It is finicky, for sure. Either you get no results, or you get pages of non-relevant information. You have to be pretty specific with your search terms.

Definitely. Conversation and discussion are what these forums are all about. Those of us that have been here for a while may get tired of seeing threads like "Has anyone used such-and-such product" when the majority of us already know of, and quite possibly, use them already. However, when YOU were new (myself included), it's better to get personal feedback about your inquiry rather than be told straight up to 'do a search'.

Such is the nature of debate on the internet. Because it's so difficult to gauge others' emotions or tones, things can quickly spiral out of hand before anyone realizes what is going on. Just keep an open mind and everything will work out.

+1 to all of the above.

Regarding searching the forum, I use Google instead of the forum's built-in search. I have a bookmark favorite icon I use for searching this forum. The URL for that is this:

https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=site:victoryforums.com&gws_rd=ssl

That brings up a regular Google search box, with some pre-filled info (see attached pic).

You enter a blank (i.e., spacebar), and then type your search word(s), e.g., rear shock valve. That search is restricted to just words found here; that's what the site:victoryforums.com part does. This is much more inclusive and thorough and easier than using the forum's search -- give it a try. The only downside is that it may take a day or so for Google to index new posts, as it winds its way through the Internet.

suit will come from heavy acceleration. We all pretty much get it.
You have your wheel at +4. Good starting point. Have you pulled the air strip around the air filter to get more air in motor.
What grade gas are you running. Most here are using 91 octane.
Do a search on the web and see who in your area that doesn't have ethanol in there gas and void them.
Good luck

VJ that is the first time i heard about the strip around the air filter. not sure what the strip looks like, but i assume it is obvious. i use minimum 91 octane. you said to void people who DONT use ethanol ? or did you mean to try to use non ethanol polluted fuel.
and by the way, i hope you accept my apology.

Ethanol does none of the things they claim it does, except benefit the growers, processors and transporters of that crap. If it wasn't for big government subsidies (our taxes) it could not and would not exist. I hope the next president is the one to repeal this stupid mandate.
