Ok I been reading and reading about both..So now Im asking what peoples opinions or expierence they have with their exhaust popping..When i talk to the dealer where I bought my Vegas, the answer was its the nature of the beast, because the 2 into 1 exhaust,flash and filter upgrade...So my concern is the popping doing any damage? Also what are some of your ideas,i.e. controller or controller with iav or just iav..if youwent with a specific controller why? I dont plan on doing cams or any motor work like that..I been looking at the ness cheap shot..Im open to all valid fixes and repairs just have to stay with in my low budget... cheers wac

Disregard most of what the dealer tells you, unless you know them well.

Research the purchases you make (like you are doing) until you have a good understanding of the situation, and make wise choices.

Ask the source. If you want to know about a product, its aplication, and which product is better for YOU, ask somone who builds and tunes Victory motorcycles for performance.

I recently asked Lloydz the same question about my 09 Kingpin which has slash pipes. I also asked if I needed to update my air as well. They responded ,
"Those pipes do backfire more than others, A VFC will help eliminate that and also the timing wheel.

Both will increase drivability also. If you want more power the TTi intake will do that but it’s not mandatory

It be installed with the other 2 items.

You can over whelm yourself with reading in here,I also noticed it turns into a huge argument about product,which i dont want to happen..thats why i hope to get what people are using and why..So far between you and gibson the only two that chimed in and i appreciate that..My biggest thing is im not on a track,im not boring this out..I just want to get the optimal running of this machine,if that makes any sense.. Sorry in advance maybe im just in over my head...

I'm with you! I'm a novice - I am not a mechanic. I've had my Kingpin less than a year. The only mod was the slash exhaust. Like you I don't like the back firing. I am considering the Lloydz Fuel Controller (VFC-III) vs. Power Commander V. However I believe with either model you need to replace the timing wheel for optimal performance. I'm leaning towards the Lloydz because they specialize in Victory's. Lloydz replied back stating these two mods will take of the backfiring. What I don't know is if the controller needs to be tuned by a mechanic or if it's plug and play?

I just watched a YouTube video about the Lloydz VFC-III..Maybe i misunderstood but it sounds like they get you pretty close to where you need to be with the maping, its up to us the owner to finetune it to our liking...Maybe some other members who know more then us will chime in soon,maybe not...These topics tend to get heated in here and some are prob staying clear because they know all to well...Maybe we are just not looking deep enough for the answer in the search section..answer is prob right in front of our eyes..

Fellas, why not try the cheap and easy things first. Lloydz IAV is around $70, easy to install and gave me the results I needed. I get only an occasional pop now and then and don't feel the need to get a controller. BTW, a smooth hand on the throttle will reduce popping too.

My XC has RPW pipes, the PCV and was dyno tuned. It still popped pretty badly so I added the IAV later. The IAV was the best product to reduce popping.

If all you are wanting is to get rid of the popping go with the IAV.

For me, the Lloydz VFC-III seems to be a no brainer for the money for the owners who aren't adding cams or other future engine work. It seems like you can get some pretty substantial gains for relatively little money.
