Oh yeah!!!! Bike Porn!!!!

I'm rooting for Indian in a big way. Every damn time a new bike comes in and starts kicking the XR750's ass the powers that be start whining to the rules officials about how Flat Track is THE American motorsport and the rules committee slaps the new bike with restrictions ..ie, weight/displacement etc because it's NOT an American bike. They started it with Yamaha on the XS650 back in 1974 when King Kenny beat their asses soundly on a Yammie. BTW, when he rode the TZ powered 750 at Indy in 75, I was in the pits watching. My Dad was a huge fan and I was a young racer so he dragged me there. That my friends was history in the making and there's a reason we call him King Kenny Roberts. The man is IMHO maybe the best overall racer the United States has ever produced. Titanium balls the size of boulders.

They did it with Triumph, Ducati and Honda with the RS750 back in 1974. I raced Flat Track on an XS650 from 77-80 and basically was forced to the XR750 if I wanted to take home some contingency money. The 650 was a better motorcycle for me and yeah, I'm still a little bitter :grin The XR750 is a great racer lets see what Indian can do and let's see if they whine.

I love Flat Track!!!! It's in my blood and my loins stir when the pack pounds by and the ground shakes and they all slap the throttle open and pitch her sideways in a choreographed dance just skimming the hay bales in turn one dragging that steel encased boot. You haven't lived until you're sideways at a 100 MPH and that wall is growing close. Poetry in motion baby.

This is sweet! I love flat track! Jamming is correct you have to have King Kong size balls to be drifting around out there at 100mph.

It cracked me up (were making the rider comfortable)
when does a flat tracker have the time. I saw my first flat track race in Rapid City Sturgis SD. These guys take off heading to turn one and they crash and one guys gas tank goes flying off over the fence. I sat there with my mouth wide open WTF. These guys are craze for sure. I later found out there not the top of the pile. We were at Sturgis hall of fame dinner and sitting next to me was a elderly gentlemen who was a board racer. So he started telling us stories of how sneaky and somewhat cheaters when they were are the boards but good friends off the boards. He said they had to be friends pulling one foot wood slivers out of a guy's arm or leg. The with needle and thread stitch them up on the train going to the next race. He said most of us were drunks trying to make a living when there was none.

If you have never seen a flat track race in person do so you'll really like it.

No big balls here...I'm just crazy...and I'm paying for it now in my mid-fifties. I can tell you when the weather is coming, I stiffen up driving to the grocery store and I walk funny sometimes. :wink The plate's in my Fibula and Shoulder sometimes set off the metal detector at the airport so I have to carry a letter. The last time I got to go through the the scanner AFTER a pat down. I told the guy that did the pat down" Next time buy me a drink first" :laugh he didn't think it was funny.

Lol... I feel your pain, literally. 2 plates and 18 screws in my right radius and ulna, 2 plates and 7 screws in my left radius and ulna. 1 plate and 10 screws on my right clavicle. 2 plates and 21 screws in my left tibula and fibula... 2 plates in the right side of my face, don't recall how many screws. 2 collapsed lungs, broke almost every rib on my right side... God bless the man who invented Arenacross!!!!
