Hey guys. I am looking at a 2004 red and silver Vegas, but I have a few questions ...

First. Is $6000 a good deal? Its stock except a stage one exhaust. The paint is perfect, motor casting is silver:/, 9500 miles, some scuffs oon wheels, the speedo has a rust ring on the inside, over all it looks lime it was stored covered outside.. 7 out of 10 quality...

Second. The fins on the motor arnt shiny anymore really. Looks like oxidation ... can that be made newish again.. with the casting being ssilver and fins not shiny jt looks all one color and that's ugly in my opinion.I'm really picky about how my ride looks and it seems like is in some cosmetic tlc to be perfect... I dont know if I should pass and wait on a another newish victory with low miles for around $6000 or take this one.*

Here is a link to the EXACT bike I'm getting. Take a look..

First off, the link isn't working and I wasn't able to find it on their site.

If she's a 7/10, I would say $6000 is rather high...but that's after just doing a local search for KBB (shows $6300 retail). Your best way to get a good gauge is to check sources like KBB and NADA. From there, call a bank to see what they'd loan against it. And, most importantly, check local listings for both private and business listings to gauge.

Other thing I would ask is if you're new to riding or been for some time. That way, you'll have an idea of things you may like on a bike. typically, you can find bikes with a lot accessories when used for a small amount more than a stock one...and accessories are NOT cheap! Best of luck!

I think I know the bike you are looking at although the link wont work. Im in Citrus County (Dunnellon area) and have been looking for a victory for a while, so Im sure Ive run across the one you are looking at.. is it Red? Anyhow, As far as the price, its not a terrible deal. You could always go in lower with cash.. people seem to be willing to deal with the economy the way it is. I'd go in at 5k and see what they say. When looking at NADA, the prices dont seem to be the going rate on these bikes. Like I said, Ive been looking all over Florida for months and I know what they sell for (private party & Dealer).

I finally picked up my new bike last week outside of Orlando. Mine had similar issues. Was stored outside with a cover.. some rust and some corrosion. I took a scotch pad to the jug fins and they came out like new. I had to take the speedo cluster off due to rust. I sanded and painted it textured black (I have an 8 Ball). I have a few other spots that have surface rust (brake line near the res, etc). I have spent a couple hours and a little elbow greece on getting the little things looking right again. It has been well worth it.. If you dont mind putting in the time, im sure you can get this bike back to at least a 9. thumb up
