Pardon me if this has been covered, I searched but didn't find. If the thread exists please link!

I bought Avon grips for my 2011 CR. Does anyone have a tutorial or vid showing me how to install them?

Thanks

I always used hairspray to wet the insides, then slipped them on. When dry, they stick in place and aren't permanently bonded in case you want to change them later. thumb up

Choose throttle ring with round holes and not oval. Test fit ring on to new grip and make sure both ring and throttle are flush/even on end. No offset levels between grip and ring. If one there, flip ring over. Once side of ring established, glue it on. Right side is remove and replace.

Left side has an adhesive sheet and a promoter used, and most have 3 set screws once on and positioned.

All depends on what grips you get. Some have set screws, some don't. If you use glue, you'll have a heck of a time if you ever want to remove them, that's why I choose to use hairspray - tacky enough to hold them in place, yet not so strong that they get bonded to the bars.

OK thanks, 3 set screws, hairspray....

I believe I read somewhere that to get them of they are destroyed, is this the case?
I have never destroyed one. I stick long skinny philips screwdriver between bar and grip. Then rotate screwdriver and it will travel around bar end releasing old adhesive. Then simply twist old grip off.

Watch the video as it is more detailed (this helped me)...throttle side can be a little tricky with the cables, but otherwise straight forward.
