I'm not the kind of person who bashes other people's bikes.....hell some people treat them better than their own kids....anyway isn't it amazing how Harley owners seem to have an enormous chip on their shoulders regarding Victory bikes. I've noticed they never miss an opportunity to take any little cheap shot they can while at the same time I also notice when we're around a bunch of bikes it's MY VICTORY most people stop to look at and comment on and just walk right by their same ol same ol bike that looks like every other bike parked on the curb. OK I'm done venting now. Love My XR!!!!!!

I haven't noticed that. You must be around some real A-holes. Most HD riders aside from maybe 3 in the 5 years I've had Porti have been very positive about Victory.

Well the sad thing is...everyone who takes their cheap shots at my bike are friends and people we've hung out with for years. Actually when you think about it maybe they're just jealous because they fell into the Harley Hype Trap and I didn't. I test rode 11 Harley's from Softails to Ultra Classics and only test rode one Victory.

Last week end we had a big spring run maybe 700 riders. At one bar i couldn't answer all the question about the vision. Few of them did admit they were tired of there harley.
It made me think what would the harley riders do if they found there was a better bike at a better price.
Now there riding something no one wants.
History of a harley riders don't like any thing thats not harley. They wouldn't admit that BMW or Goldwing on any thing is better then there outdated bike.
I remember when there was a T shirt that ask if harley built a airplane would you fly in it.
Ya Right:ltr:

Well, what I've noticed is that when I was on my Vulcan 900, the Harley guy's would pull up beside me, look over, rev their loud @$$ pipes, and smile like...don't you wish YOU were on a Harley. Now with the Cross Country, most of them try to avoid even pulling up beside me...and when they do, they just stare straight ahead, and they dang sure don't rev their engine. Little did they know my little hopped up 900 would have eat their lunch too. But I have got a few compliments from REAL bikers who are on Harley's, of course a lot of those same guy's thought my metric was pretty cool too. I think the people who ride Harleys and look down on other brands, are just the wannabe's who bought the bike for a status symbol, ride down to Starbucks Saturday mornings, and don't put 2000 miles on their bikes in a whole year.

Between forums and in-person experiences, I'd guess that non-HD riders complaing about HD riders or taking shots at the bikes themselves would out-number the times I've had an HD rider bag on me and my ride no less than 20-1. And, inevitably, during the complaining, people start taking even more shots. Some day, the pot and the kettle will get along...nah. Nevermind.

Never had an HD myself and don't really desire one at this time. But that's only because they haven't appealed to me ergonomically or asthetically. If they had one that did, I wouldn't hesitate as every time I've had to work with an HD dealer, it's been an incredibly nice experience.

When I owned my last bike, non-HD rides would see the 2053cc emblem on the side cover and give me thumbs-up. HD riders would see it and turn their heads the other way. With my XR I still find HD riders the least likely to have any kind of a conversation.

I get more compliments on my XC than I did any of my HDs. that includes the 2005 RG with $38,000 invested.(barf) It's pretty wild actually. I've had both and haven't heard any cheap shots but bring em on because I've got a lota seat time with the HD and my ass thanks me every time I ride the Vic. I like tellin them a closed mind is a great thing to waste.

Way more compliments actually!!thumb up If I had to put a number on it would be 10 times. So hats off to Victory for that.

o8 kpin

I went out on my kpin on sunday and the HD guys were pretty cool! They were very impressed with my victory and could not believe the paint job. They dont have much to say when my motor is bigger than most HD. Actually when you look at their motor it looks so much smaller than the victory its kind of comical! One HD rider said to me wow thats a big motor.:ltr:

It doesn't really matter what you ride, but that you ride. Having said that, I do get a LOT of positive comments on the XC, even at the All Harley bike shop down the street that has a big "No Jap Bikes Allowed" sign. Last weekend a guy told me he had been sitting cross the street eating an ice cream cone and lusting after my XC. He was riding a very nice Vulcan 1500. Thought he was gonna have an O when I told him to sit on the XC.
