I wouldn't mind having a Kingpin. They are smaller and lighter than my Cross Country. I have had a Vegas, 2 TC's and now a XC. The XC is really getting heavy for me. I had a great time getting old, but being old really sucks.

It sure does. This is one of the reasons I haven't sold my KP even though I don't ride it much right now. I like the way it feels so light and handles so effortlessly.

The XC is great but I would never get get even half of what I have into it. Victory's aren't selling well right now around here anyway. For a heavy bike it feels much lighter than it is too. Still; if I dropped it I think I would probably need help picking it up now whereas in the past I could do it by myself.

Like you said; getting old sucks. The heart and mind may be willing but the body can be reluctant.

I have a KP and an XC in the shed... the XC is a 'better' bike all the way around, but it is a lot. I had the misfortune of laying it down (gently) in a muddy field trying to find a place to park; a kid ran in front of me and i got off balance. I did end up needing some assistance getting it back up. The ground was wet slicked grass and mud and I just couldn't get leverage on it. Very embarrassing. I did end up having to pick up my KP by myself once ( I didn't lay it down.. long story) and it was MUCH easier to pick up.

The XR has the same feel as a KP, with it's extremely low CofG. I work on friend's XCs and a Vision and compared to my XR, they are tanks, especially the Vision. Every time I'm having to move those barges, I am so glad I bought a XR.

Apparently the difference in weight is only 20 lbs so what you might feel is the illusion of weight due to the fairing. It does make it a bit more sluggish 'feeling' when turning the front forks. The Vision is a lot heavier; ; 124 lbs more than the XR. Forty of that is probably the trunk.

I do have to make a correction here--the XCs I have worked on are XCTs and their top cases, along with the fairing make them much more top heavy than my XR. Those numbers don't tell the whole story. But even a XC feels a helluva lot more cumbersome than my XR. Even the owners of those XCs and XCTs acknowledge that.
