Sorry if this was discussed a million times.... but....

I want to switch over to LED and I think I want to go with one of those Daymaker style lights instead of just an LED bulb. I tried to install a bulb with the fan on the back- it's a no-go with the inside of that headlamp bucket.

Has anyone successfully switched over to LED without:
1. modifying the headlamp bucket internals?
2. switching out the entire headlamp bucket?

Pics and specifics would be great. I see fake daymakers going for under $100.

Thank you!!

While it does not fit the 2015 Gunner, I did change to the factory LED on my 2014 CC. It was a simple "plug & play" installation, partially due to the lack of requirement for relays and ballasts as in HID installations. Nor did I have to do anything special when I installed LED driving lights. My guess is it would be similar for aftermarket headlights but fitment would likely be the issue.

I'm wondering how a 7" daymaker would fit in and stay in the round headlamp bucket.

Anyone do this?
Got pics or advice?

Once you measure for the diameter needed- It would probably fit fine, but I would check these things

First make sure the housing isn't obviously so thick that you can't get it in the bucket.

It has the correct plug.

Buy it from somewhere that you can return it to without hassle- just in case. What does saving a few bucks on price if it's no good, and/or you cannot get your money back.

I was looking at similar LED headlamps. I think the 7" would be too big for my Gunner, it appears to be 5 3/4. I'd be interested in how this works for you.

OH! I didn't measure it yet- thought it was bigger but I was waiting to see if anyone has had good luck and if there were wiring issues or fitment issues. (Which there would be if I went with a 7" apparently!)

So, Let's see if anyone has installed the 5 3/4" version yet!

Just ordered this on Amazon-

Good reviews, I asked a couple of questions and they responded within minutes. I know some are less, but I think the quality is better on this one based upon what I read.

It'll be here next week- I'll give a review.

Don't bother. It fits but only if you pull out the plastic cone thing inside the headlamp assembly (or cut it). Worst part, there's no way to secure the lamp in the bucket. The rubber gasket does not fit into it for the chrome ring to hold it in. Very disappointed because it looks really nice. The headlamp I bought was very good quality.

Ok... After walking away and having a beer, I went back to it after putting the sledgehammer away.

It appears that if I use a Dremel to remove the majority of the plastic
cage that sits behind the headlamp, it'll fit in. Then to hold it in place and make up for the gap between the lamp and the bucket I'll have to reuse the thick rubber gasket. It'll require modification to fit properly, but it can be done. I did a test fit and it should work. I need that outer ring with the three Xmas tree rivets to help hold the rubber gasket in place.

I'd like donor or cheap parts to chop just in case. Anyone know someone with the guts from a round headlamp they'd be willing to part with "in the name of science"? See pic below:

If this works, I'll do a complete write up and all of the round lamp guys and gals can get the fancy Daymaker style lamps for themselves!
