Living on a mountain has it's good and bad points.
The good side you never run out of twists/curves to ride. It's almost endless. To go to a store you get a good 40 mile ride. If you really want to go to the big stores at least 90 miles. Everybody minds their own business and will help ya when asked. It is a bunch of small communities/towns and we have so few red lights we do not notice them, they rarely turn red on the main highways. It's quiet all the time. Even the police station is long distant to call.

The bad side is storms. When we get hit with big wind/rain/hail/tornadoes a lot of damage is occurred.

Early this morning we had a storm go through that had it's way in several areas. My power went out at 4 am this morning and just came back on, that's no big deal as I was out cutting/hauling/stacking/pushing to get things cleared. We do not wait on disaster relief.
we get on our tractors and get out saws/pruners and go to work.

I had very slight damage. With a lot of trees the tornadoes lift up and drop so damage is scattered. 3 years ago 1 went over my house I seen as it was coming. Got my roof and dropped like a rock right onto my cousins house and barn destroying everything in it's path.

Would not move for anything because the good outweighs the bad.

Need a place to ride just let me know I know every road in North Alabama east to west and as far south as Trussville and as far north Lynchburg Tennessee.

My XC loves the roads here and I love letting it enjoy itself.

Had a professor that wrote a book about Sand Mtn......."Salvation on Sand Mountain" about the churches on Sand mtn and snake handling.

We did away with that real quick. Actually the Snake handling church is about 5 miles from my House. Oh there was only 1 church that did that. The pastor's wife got bit and she died. The pastor went to jail.

End of story.

Good fresh air especially when we are fertilizing with Chicken liter.

When the truck pulls in I take off on the bike.
