Anyone have any experience with these shields ?, I had my mind set on a 7Jurock flip dark tint in a 14" but am really looking hard at the Long Ride Shields in the same specs. I currently have the Vic tall which is like 19" or something like that and wish to slim things down a bit and add the look of the dark tint.

I have a 14" 7Jurock flipped smoke shield on my CCT. Loved it but it is too short with my Russell Day Long Saddle so now I'm back to my stocker that I can see over. Loved the 14" flip shield while it was on.

Installed my LRS last night. One thing to think about for those coming off a Victory Tall OEM, you will need washers and I recommend some form of neoprene washers as well. If I had simply just used my OEM chrome screws without I'm sure they would have dug in and possibly right through the holes in the new shield. I wasn't sure about the chrome up against the dark tint but after looking at other pics here, this is how I went. Picked up some chrome washers and some black neoprenes, used them together and all seems fine, the chrome "buttons" look isn't bad either. I might suggest that LRS provide washers and/or black anodized screws with their future shipments as it would provide a complete install package and a choice for the consumer whether they want chrome or black.
I do have that small gap at the ends as the others have spoken about here but it doesn't seem to obvious. Perhaps LRS could look into the curve and see if this can be corrected in future builds of this shield.
No problem with my windshield pouches and so far it at least looks pretty great. Haven't had a chance to road test yet and the pics are only in the garage, will try to remember to update as I get more time in the saddle, weather still sucks up here in NY.

Long Ride Shields

I have three long ride shields myself. I love them all. I live near the company and have assisted them in developing the shields. They are great people who really want to do the right thing. The pictures of the red vic on the web page are of my bike. I have a 2013 XCT. To use the the shield on the tour, you need to take of the factory brackets and mount the shield in the same holes the brackets attach to (Just like the XC). I bought vehicle door edge molding and put it on top of the fairing for protection (see pictures). I have had no problems installing three different shields with different heights. I am 5-9 with a 32 inch inseam and I prefer the 12 inch. I have no buffeting and I see easily over the shield. They also do custom etching (see picture). I also used the existing soft washers that worked fine. I change these out frequently and have had no issues. You do have to do a little maneuvering but it is a nice tight fit.

Bought a LRS shield, and like mentioned above, there needs to be chrome washers (that fit around the unthreaded portion of the screws) included in the package because when the factory screws are inserted and snugged down, there's still a good gap left between the the shield and the screws - enough that the shield wobbles (the LRS shields are significantly thinner than any others to have created this need). I contacted the the owner on this and he sent me some adhesive backed felt like washers, and they definitely aren't gonna do the job. :crzy:

All three of my shields fit nice and snug. In fact, the LRS shield is thicker than stock and thicker than the krome werks shield. I have not found this issue on my bike and shield at all. Mine always have a nice tight and snug fit between the shield and the washers. The only issues I have had is me tightening the screws to tight and splitting a washer. In fact, because of this, I have had to back off the muscle on the screws a bit. But they are tight and snug and I have never had any wobble whatsoever. If you follow the instructions carefully, it should result in a very tight and snug fit.
