I'm new here, having just bought a used 2009 Vegas 8 Ball. There's a picture of it below.

I'm wondering if someone with an 09 Vegas can answer my question. Does your low fuel light come on you turn on the key before starting the bike?

My low oil pressure and check engine lights come on when you turn ignition to on to show they are working, but the low fuel doesn't. The manual isn't clear. I assume the fuel light should also come on and the bulb is burned out on my bike on but I'd appreciate hearing if your's lights or not on startup.

Nice Vegas!
I'm 99% sure I only get the Oil and Engine lights, along with the green Neutral when the key is turned on, but bike not started.

My low fuel light doesn't start to flicker until around 125 miles. I'd expect to get about 180-200 miles on a tank, but always fill around 130 miles or so, put in around 3.5 gals which should leave me with another 1.5 or 60 miles.

I have an 07 8Ball and only the engine and oil light come on at start up. Just like KS said, my fuel light comes on at roughly 125 miles and I fill up around 135-140'ish.

My experience is the same as Mac and KS. After about 125 - 130 miles have you seen the Low Fuel light come on?

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

I just bought the bike and I put a full tank in it and havent had time to run it down. I'll see if I can burn some gas tomorrow on this thing:)

That's the best test of all because there are no wrong answers. Be safe and have fun.

I changed to the digital set up and was waiting a long time (150 miles) before the low fuel message came up,had me sweating a bit but goes to show how good these bikes are on fuel.

I am finally getting round to posting the outcome.

So I ran the gas down and the fuel light started coming on at 150 miles with combined city/highway riding. At 155 miles, I put in 13.7 litres to fill it, so it had roughly .9 US gallons left when the light came on.

Weird that the light doesn't come on with the key (like the engine and oil lights do), so that you know its working...duh.
