Has anyone used easy brackets to mount their bags? I just mounted a set of Saddlemen Drifter Slant bags (The Jumbo Size) with Easy brackets and I was just curious if they were installed correctly. You can see on the attached picture that the bags kind of slant in towards the bike when you look at the top of them. The bike is leaning on the stand in this picture but you can see what I'm talking about. Is this normal? I was expecting them to be a bit more parallel with the side of the bike. They do look good when you look at them from the side. I guess I could bend the brackets if I had too. Any thoughts on how they look?

Are those Victory brackets? I had the Victory Quick-Release brackets for my first set of bags and the bags did actually sit parallel to the bike. Maybe try reversing them and see what they look like.

Sorry I don't have a better suggestion for you.

The brackets are the ones that are made by Easy Brackets specifically designed for the Vegas. And they will only fit on one side because of how they are designed. Oh well, I guess at least I can haul sh!t now.

easy brackets

I had the same look you do with my easy brackets and saddle bags
I almost threw them in the corner but put them in the vice and
bent them with a pipe wrench, the bags now look parallel with the
bike and I am happy with them now.

Rand i,

Thanks for the advice. That was actually what I was planning on doing next. I called Easy Brackets and they said that the Vegas is the only bike that they've seen do that. So I guess it is a know issue. We have a machine shop so I won't have any trouble bending them to the angle I want. It just seems a shame that you have to do that to $150 brackets. Oh well, I'll give it a shot this weekend.

Seems to me like those were made for Jackpot & Hammer due to angle. I would find out if they sent you the incorrect ones.

NOEMTZ,

I actually called them about this and they said that they have noticed before that the brackets do stick out this way on the Vegas. The guy I spoke with said that the Vegas is the only bike that he's seen this issue with. He said that I could try puting a spacer on the top two bolts to try to lessen the angle. I tried this by puting 3 stainless steel washers on each of the top bolts. It helped a little but I'm still not satisfied with it. I'm gonna try bending the brackets this afternoon and see how that goes.

If they know they have an issue with the Vegas....I wonder why they still sell them to vegas owners. Hopefully you will make out okay with bending them.

I too was wondering why they would sell the brackets for the vegas like that. It looks like it would be and easy fix in the design. I did bend the brackets this weekend and they look a lot better than they originally did. I probably could've bent them a little further but I didn't want to rish breaking them. They're not perfect, but I'm happy with them now.
