So the story begins with me buying a 1999 hd electraglide ultra classic last year with a 1 year warrenty. 1 month before the warrenty ended, I brought it back to the dealer to get the base gaskets changed because they were starting to leak. before that the bike ran great and rode awesome. when the tech pulled the cylinders off he noticed a couple of tight spots in the crank and the dealer decided to put a new crank in under warrenty. I thought that was pretty cool of them and since they were already pulling the motor apart, now would be a good time to put a 95ci kit in. 4600.00 and 6 weeks later (1500.00 of it mine) I finally get my bike back. the dealer is an hour away from my house and all the way home it's stumbling, backfiring, caughing out the throttlebody and generally running like crap. I get home, call the dealer up and explain to them what's happening and they say, oh, we sure are sorry about that, bring it back and we'll fix it. back to the dealer it goes for another week at which point the tech says, there's nothing wrong with it, you just have to drive it because it's a new motor. WTF!!!! he must think I'm retarded. long story short, by now, I'm out of warrenty and the dealer has pretty much washed their hands of it. skip back 6 months and for mine and the ole ladys 10 year anniversary, I buy her a 2008 vegas 8 ball which she loves. I've owned a bunch of bikes and her vegas was by far the funnest bike to ride. so after going through what I did with my harley, I started looking at victory's. yesrterday I picked up my new red vegas and damn is it fun to ride. sorry to be so long winded but just wanted you guys to know why I now ride a victory and will never look back. not only do I have a bike I love but I got a five year warrenty for 300 bones if anything ever does go wrong.

Welcome to the Victory family.

I hate to say this this but the dealer/tech network with Victory is no better and its a LOT smaller then HD.

Unless you are lucky enough to live near one of the few good Victory techs, like our own KevinX. IF (and thats a big IF) you have some serious problem you could be a long time waiting for the fix.

The funny thing is a lot of people find their fixes for the problems right here.

I'm not trying to jinx you just giving you a heads up on the weak link in the Victory ownership chain.

The victory dealer network may not be as big as HD but from what I have been reading and researching, victory is at least taking comments from their customers to heart and trying to make their bikes better whereas harley lives on name alone, takes your cash and doesn't give a crap about issues with their bikes. any harley dealers I've dealt with seem to have an uppity attitude toward the customer and I'm not getting that from my victory dealer. will I have issues with my victory? maybe. we will see how my dealer handles it. I know how harley dealers handle problems. they give you the company line. "it's a harley, it's supposed to do that" no thanks.....
