How's it goin', everyone? I am a proud owner of a 2016 Gunner. It is my first cruiser and honestly, I don't know how o ever lived without one. I love this bike so much. I have had it only a week and it is already almost time for its 500mi service. Slight issue, while coming up to a stop sign, I pulled the clutch in and it stalled. It has done it a couple of times. And it idles really rough. I am guessing the fuel map just needs to be adjusted. Other than that, I absolutely love this bike and look forward to putting lots of miles on it. Glad to be part of the group!

Welcome and good choice for your 1st cruiser thumb up
This low-speed stalling is one of those "quirks" Vics have. Some engines have the issue, some don't and some have it worse than others. Mine stalled occasionally when it was stock, it did it less when I had a PC-V fuel controller and performance parts installed. That said, since I went back to a basic Vic stage 1 setup this year it has not stalled once.
Make sure you bring it to your dealers attention at the 500mi service.

Interesting.... I am sure there is a way to fix this. It seems as though the issue is under 2500rpm. I wonder if the Fuel Managment system from Lloyds will help. It is supposed to work with the MAP under 2500rpm... Thank you for the warm welcome. It seems as though this Forum is pretty active, glad to be a part of it. :grin

Lioydz has several performance items for the 106. The part you're referring to that works under 2500prms is the ATS or timing gear. This is a mechanical timing adjustment that won't do anything for the stalling.
Putting a fuel controller(PC-V) in my bike did help, but did not eliminate the stalling.

I was looking through the Tech section and noticed a post for "throttle reset." I have a habit of hitting the kill switch when I turn the bike off, then turning it back to ON, before I turn the key off. Could I maybe have messed up something while doing this? My bike idles between 850-950, after it is heated up. My buddy has a Hardball, with the 106, he said that his doesn't drop below 1000 normally. He has the Lloyds air filter and after market pipes (don't know the brand) I think he has the PC on it too, not fully sure. (MODS, if I should move this to a different section (out of respect for the introductions thread) let me know. So far you guys have been very helpful, seems like a great community to be in.

go to dealer and have them make it right. You paid for it now get them to make it right. You can throw hundreds of dollars at the bike and never get the stall out. So do it right go to dealer.

You guys aren't blippers are you (revving the motor at a stop) for one thing you look silly doing it and for another I understand Vic's don't like it.

Let me tell you about the last time I had a stall....I was out riding with Ian, we were taking a right out of a gravel parking lot(Bull's Bridge) that dips down, then goes steep up. As I came out of the dip....the bike died on the spot...then proceed to lay nicely over on its side.

I do blip the throttle, when downshifting, and also when i am stopped for a long time, it doesn't like to stay idling. i think the idle is set too low or something. I will keep you updated. I should be taking it into the dealership for my 500mi service next week. Thank you for all of your guys' input.

I got my '16 Gunner in March and I haven't had any issues with idling... mine idles between 850 and 900 rpm. I've not had it stall out on me either. I did have it backfire once right after I picked it up from getting my 500 mile service, but that hasn't happened since.

Good luck getting it running right and enjoy your new bike!!

Cheers!!!

It tends to backfire quite a bit when downshifting, even if I don't blip the throttle. I wonder if it's just running too rich and it's something they can tune out of it during my 500mile service. May have them throw a PC on it and just have it updated as I get new parts...

Get a more free flowing exhaust... Nothing Victory sells though. Freedom performance is good, Hackers isn't too bad, Bassani about the same... Conquest Customs make some I think. My stock highball backfired a little as well. I put on a Lloydz intake/air, the PCV, and exhaust. It ran like a champ after that.

Gotta love the snap crackle pop of a Victory with a free flowing exhaust,
As long as it doesn't bring return fire it's cool.
Mine used to snap out the exhaust on up-changes, i got my dyno man to tune it out,
A bit of deceleration crackle sounds nice, after all if you can't handle the sound of a hotrod exhaust why go down that path.
A nicely tuned and healthy breathing Freedom V Twin is music to my ears.

Rode a friends twincam HD with Vance and Hines pipes with a download tune and the sound on deceleration was shocking loud bangs like a machine gun every time I backed off!
I strongly advised her to ditch the screaming eagle controller and invest in a PCV and a proper tune.
