Welcome from the People's Republic of Portland. Sorry that Santa didn't bring you a paved road, but I know you are going to enjoy your XR as I do mine. You live so close to some great riding roads, I envy you.

Yeah! I can't wait for the snow to melt at Crater Lake. I've ridden around it on my Norton and it has always been very enjoyable! A lot of great roads around here!

:ltr: If we were around to cause global warming before the ice age, we could have saved the dinosaurs! cheers

What a pessimist you are! I betting worst case, the first week of August! I was up near there on a Christmas tree hunt and there was a lot less snow than I expected. There just might be an early ride!

You got that right, except there were many, many ice ages. Hmm, s'pose there were warming periods between them? Nah, couldn't have been, the earth was always like it was when we were born.
Maybe this Gullible Warming thing might be a way to make certain folks very wealthy, ya think? I mean, who'd want CFLs with mercury in 'em if they weren't forced on us?:crzy:

The bogus theory of evolution links climate change with evolution itself (human evolution too). So if bad humans really cause global warming, all you do is accelerate evolution, which means better humans in the long run. Woo hoo... :D

Welcome from Oak Grove Oregon. Had my 2013 XCT since September and I hope you enjoy your XR. Nothing but smiles every time I ride even in the rain.

Cool
I'm in Springfield.
Where did you buy your bike?

I love Crater Lake. I've been there somewhere between 300 and 400 times. Winter and Summer.
The secret to riding the rim at Crater Lake; is riding around the lake clockwise. There are places a bike can pull over near the rock wall that cars can't. (don't even need to get off the bike)

A WARM welcome during the cold season. I live in Australia where I can ride all year round, but I sure hope the weather gets better for you sooner than later!! Ride safe and enjoy the forums.

I got it in Eugene @ Greg Coen MC. Really nice guy!
Your right about the clockwise ride. Have you been up 138 and checked out the waterfalls? Very cool !

Thank you! Year round huh? I'd consider moving there but the commute could be a little rough!

I like doing a loop from Springfield; up 58 to 97 to 138 or reverse (depending on the season). Munchies in Glide for a lunch is good too.
