Currently riding an Ultra Classic but considering a switch to XCT.
Like the looks and engine size not to mention the considerably lower price tag. Would like to hear from others who have made this switch with their thoughts. Pros and cons etc. Not looking to jump into a new one and would also like advice on which of the older models would be best option wise.

Thanks in advance. Appreciate any input.

I have a 2012 crossroad I switched from a 08 triumph rocket 3 the only thing I really miss is the power
The handling on the CR is better and in 4.5 yes I have over 92000 miles on it with no problems just do the normal maintenance and they are good to go
I have a friend that switched from a rocket to the vision and he is very happy with his

I made the switch from an 09 Ultra Classic with the very lame 96". Power and handling go to the Cross Country. Factory support and aftermarket go to the Harley. Reliability and ease of maintenance go to the Cross Country. Fit and finish go to the Harley. Having dealerships in a few short years go to the Harley.

you do know that Victory is "out" of business and there will be no 2018 models.
They say they will have parts for 10 years but guys are all ready not finding parts like fuel filter.
You better ride a few not just one but 2 or 3. Think twice before buying

I came off a 2011 Road Glide Ultra and had a 2005 Ultra Classic and was the best move I had made in years. I now have a 2013 CCT and will be keeping it for years. Best bike I have owned and I have ad a bunch in the last 45 years.

I made the quantum leap and skipped the Harley entirely, and am very very happy.
local HD gave me last years RoadGlide for 24 hrs and I returned it with over 500 miles extra on the odometer, not overly impressed ....though the grunt down low low was better than my Vegas , but once up in the revs there's just no comparison.
Vic's handling is sharp and stable too...braking a tad better on the RG ,which sorta surprised me.
All in all I made the right choice I think.

I have a few bikes, including the Triumph Thunderbird Storm. I have test ridden just about every full dressed heavy tourer and ear marked the XCT for my 60th birthday present in 18 months time especially as it didn't have Bluetooth. When I heard the Victory news my heart sank but a week later the bikes were discounted, so I did the math and went out and bought one of the few 17's in Australia. I had the tri oval performance system ordered too, but on delivery they weren't fitted. The bike was a slug especially in 3rd & 4th.But one week, 900 kilometres and first service later, the bike is transformed. I have only been back on the Storm once, the XCT doesn't have that sheer power, but not complaining as it's a different bike. I am using a bit of fuel though, but need to stop riding it like my Storm, handling is ace though. First road trip coming up on Tuesday, I did have the trunk off for a week, might do that again as I will be with 15 other bikes and they ride. I don't see the parts supply as an issue, perhaps short term but reckon it will settle as aftermaket suppliers fill any gaps and the forums will identify reliable sources, as they already do. Now waiting for some goodies from Bad Billet, hope they arrive before Tuesdays 3 day ride.

So, do I have any negatives, a couple but not show stoppers. The bike was delivered without air in the rear shock, I am 105kg, it bottomed a few times (my riding style) now sorted and Fox pump purchased. The fuel gauge is a joke, using a trip meter, but consumption isn't clever (probably my riding style). High speed handlebar wobble but that was in test conditions and I doubt that I will be at that speed again. I don't like the gap behind the rear cylinder, Bad Billet have an inexpensive solution, soon sorted. Factory touring screen, just dangerous, dropping the bike into twisties, one eye through the screen, one eye in clean air, not good. Easy fix, shorter screen, I wear ear plugs with noise filters so no further problems.

The positives. The tri ovals, including performance air filter and retune transform the bike. The handling is beyond expectation, I live in a totally enclosed valley, great riding to get in and out, the bike love's it. Sound system is better with my filtered ear plugs much better with the Bluetooth and usb connector, hints of Magnum as it has its grills and controls. Trunk off it looks good. The manual misses the bit about the theft prevention bolts but watch the utube video. The missus rates the pillion as the best she has ridden, haven't told her about the heated seat and adjustable footboards yet.

Oh, almost forgot... I had an issue with the engine light staying on. It happens when you start up in gear. I have stopped that practice and all ok now. I spoke with the workshop on first service and since did the x3 off/on cycle to clear it, irritating but my bad habit, no longer.

Welcome from Middle Tennessee

I switched from a Harley to the Victory Cross Country Tour after taking a demo ride at Sloan's in Murfreesboro . I bought a used 2014 CCT and LOVE it. Smooth and comfortable ride for this old man.
