I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. I just purchased my first Victory yesterday after not having a bike in probably 12 years. My last bike was a 2000 Honda Blackbird 1100xx so this is my first cruiser style bike. I live in Upstate NY so I have to wait what seems like a very long time before I can ride. :( Anyways the bike is a 2004 Victory Vegas with 28,000 miles. I purchased it for $3900 and it looks like it has been well maintained. The little research I have done on Victory bikes I'm not to worried about the high mileage. I guess time will tell. :) Main reason for the bike is to commute back and forth to work as well as joy rides on the weekends. Can't wait!!! Anyways I just wanted to say hello to the forum. I believe I can post pics after my first post? Been awhile since I've been a part of any forum so it might take me a bit to get back into the swing of things.
Regards!

Welcome! From DownUnder.
If thats the bike in the thumbnail pic it looks real nice, and. 28k aint a lot of miles on a Victory, believe me.
I done way more than that in the last two years on mine and she just keeps getting better.
Looking forward to some full size pix.

Last year, we in CT didn't get much if any snow until after Christmas; I remember, because I went riding the day after. And then, Boston got walloped with the most snow in one season EVER. It took until July for the last of it to finally melt lol

lol don't jinx it.. normally by now we have a couple inches on the ground and the bike has been collecting dust... pulled out a turkey day ride, but they dropped salt over the weekend on my commute to work, so bike season is done.... for now. lol

Welcome to the forum.

When did 28,000 become high mileage for an 04 that's very low mileage.

Thanks for the welcome everyone... Please no more depressing talk about the snow... I'm one of those people who believes that if you don't think about it... it won't happen. LOL So I'm a bit delusional. :) wspollack I live near Saratoga so not to far from you. I live out in the Adirondacks so when I get use to riding again and get use to riding a cruiser for the first time we should try to meet up. I'm already looking for a club or a group of guys to ride with... all my buddy's ride crotch rockets and their idea of an fun ride isn't the same as mine. LOL So I'm looking for some more laid back riding buddy's. Same goes for you Monstermash... I will def. take a ride out your way this summer. I mean I have to wait for the new casino to get built out this way so I can hit Turning Stone as well. Again thanks guys and I will post pics as soon as I'm able to.

"Out in the Adirondacks" is perfect for me. Several times a year, my goofin off day trips include 28 or 28N or 30. And maybe lunch at the Adirondack Hotel on Long Lake. PM me next April...

I'm retired, so I don't ride with clubs -- just by myself or with another retired buddy. But there is a group that may suit you: http://www.adirondackvictoryriders.com/

I'm into laid back riding, some of the time, and my wife sort of insists on it, for two-up trips. At other times, um:

We haven't had any salt yet, but once it does down, that is my cutoff.
