Opinion on Set-up

I currently have stock XC 2014. I am thinking of adding the Lloydz Adjustable Timing System and Victory Fuel Controller, gen. 3. Not sure if the fuel controller is necessary or not but the moneys there and I thought why not. I am planning on adding exhaust next spring but this is still up in the air cause between my wife and me one likes loud and the other likes quite, go figure. So just curious if this set-up is going to boost the performance or not. Also for the money would a Power Commander be a better choice than the Victory controller?

Thanks
Steve

Welcome from CT!
The Lloydz ATS in my mind is a must-have. Fuel controllers are usually more beneficial if you have done mods like freer exhaust and/or air filter. However these bikes run very lean from the factory and a controller may help out in this regard.

broggry, Per the local Victory mechanic with the power commander V the timing can be advanced just like the Lloydz ATS would do. Is this correct? my understanding the power commander will not do this until after 2500prm's

The PCV will allow you to adjust timing, but only from 2500 rpm and up. The ATS is for advancing timing for the entire rpm range from idle to redline.

Am no expert here but ATS and some kind of Fuel Controller are excellent choices for starting out .. Fuel Controller even on Bone Stock will give you better A/F Ratio than the EPA 14.7 .. Run Smoother and Cooler Running .. When you do exhaust mod would be a good idea to add a Lloyds Air Filter as well and then adjust your Controller to enjoy the added power the way it should be ..

For now I am installing the timing wheel and the Lloyds air filter along with the PCV. I am hoping my local shop will have a map for this without putting it on a dyno, want to save this until next year when I do the exhaust. If they don’t have a map for this I may reach out to the members for one and maybe with this set-up I may not even need one, not sure.

Heck, you are in Iowa. Contact the Vic Shop and get Rylan Voss's advice. You are in easy striking distance of his shop and can get a proper tune from him for not too much money. That is going to be far better than anything we can give you. 515-339-4313
