Once the sensors are disconnected they're wide open to all the dirt, etc. that could clog them up if you needed to reconnect them. I was thinking of using duct tape over the open ends but am afraid engine heat would be too much and would melt the tape. What are you guys doing if anything?

I currently run nothing but I have thought that vacuum line block offs would work well. The little rubber pieces with the closed end.

If your that worried go to hardware store and back in the nuts and bolts are those little trays. Look you;ll find those plastic caps to cover the ends.

You could cover both the disconnected ends with Vaseline.

You could also remove the sensor completely and install a plug. Witchdoctor sells these for $13.45 a piece.

Then you could cover the other end with some Vaseline.

Go to any exhaust shop and they probably have dozens of plugs they'll give you to fill the O2 sensor holes if you remove them. As far the the harness wire you can tape the front one up with some electrical tape and tuck in under the flap in fron of your engine. The rear can also be taped and stuffed in with the wires near the left rear of the engine.

Yep you can disconnect them and go. The concern was the open connections which for most aren't a concern.

+1 what Ammo said. When muffler shops get certain pipes, they come with plugs that are removed and cast aside. A local shop gave me a pair as pictured above - nice and flush. Removing the sensors and installing those plugs really cleaned things up in the engine room. Be sure to apply anti-seize sparingly on the plug threads before installing.
